         <title>Zeus</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Zeus is the god of the sky he can control lightning and thunder storms. He is 2nd  most powerful god on Mt.Olympus. He is the youngest son of the Titans, son of Cronus and Rhea. Zeus siblings were Hades, Poseidon, Demeter, Hera and Hestia. Zeus symbol's include the lightning bolt, eagle, the bull, and the oak tree. The lightning bolt represents punishment of humans from the gods. Zeus has the ability to throw lightning bolt's at humans. One cool fact is that Zeus and his brothers overthrew Cronus and he became the supreme god of Olympus.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Hermes is the god of trade, wealth, luck, fertility, animal husbandry, sleep, language, thieves, and travel. He is the son of Zeus and a mountain nymph. Hermes uses his special wand called the Caduceus which guided travelers and led the souls of the dead down to Hades. Hermes was good at running and flying at speeds exceeding those of any other Olympian god or goddess. One fun fact is that  Hermes was born in a cave on a mountain in Arcadia.</div>]]></description>

         <title>Ares</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Ares is god of war and destruction, Ares represents the violent and physical untamed aspect of war. He is the son of Zeus and Hera. Ares uses his special sword and shield to battle off his enemy's. Ares talent is shooting fireballs at humans. His parents and many other did not like him because he left traces of misfortune and aberration behind. A lot of people compared him to his half sister Athena because there both  associated with war activities, but Athena is respected and appreciated for her warfare, strategy, courage and wisdom, Ares is seen as the force of destruction, savage warfare and bloodlust.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Demeter is the god of harvest, grain, and fertility. She is the sister of Zeus and mother of Persephone. Demeter did not have any weapons. But she carried  around wheat to prove she was the Harvest Goddesses. He had the ability to control harvesting of plants especially, grain.Symbols of Demeter are Grain Sheaf, Winged Serpent, Lotus Staff, Torch, Cornucopia. One time a punishment for cutting down trees in a sacred grove she placed Aethon, the god of famine, in the stomach of Erysichthon making him permanently famished. <br><br></div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Poseidon is the god of the sea, earthquakes, and horse's.  He is the 1st strongest god on Mt.Olympus. Husband to <strong>Amphitrite</strong>, and brother to Hades, Zeus, Chiron, Hera, Demeter, and Hestia. His special weapon is a trident he uses to create water sources. His talent is called the "Earth Shaker" because when he struck the earth in anger he caused mighty earthquakes and he used <strong>his trident</strong> to stir up tidal waves, tsunamis and sea storms. One fact about Poseidon is that he defeated the giant Polybotes by breaking off a piece of the island of Kos and throwing it at him.</div>]]></description>

He could also control the weather causing rain and huge storms. Dionysus symbol's are the snake and phallus because he typically wears a panther or leopard skin and carries a Thyrsus – a long stick or wand topped with a pine cone. His special talent is the ability to transform himself into animals such as a bull or a lion. He also had special powers  to drive mortals insane. Also to inflict plagues and death or to heal. One fun facts is that One of the largest temples built to a Greek god or goddess was the Temple of Artemis in Ephesus.          <description><![CDATA[<div>Hephaestus is the god of  fire, metalworking, stone masonry, forges and the art of sculpture. Son of Zeus and Hera, husband of Aphrodite and Aglaea. His powerful weapon is the hammer, anvil, and a pair of tongs. Hephaestus had the power of blacksmith and tools and was very important and honored for making all of the weapons for Olympus and acting as a blacksmith for the gods. One interesting fact is that Hephaestus was born deformed and was cast out of heaven by one or both of his parents when they noticed that he was imperfect.</div>]]></description>
