I would agree with this statement because Britain seemed to have the most interest in natural resources in Africa and seemed to work to colonize them specifically for that reason.

With Britain being the largest/most powerful country during that time

period, they would have had the means (more so than another country

like Russia or France) to conquer the majority of Africa.
