Randy's CHALLENGES are that he is a Soc, but he doesn't believe in fighting and violence. His best friends are known to be fighters. Randy is COURAGEOUS because he risks backlash from the Socs by speaking to Pony. He also refuses to fight the Greasers in the rumble by taking a stance against violence. He believes nothing will change if they fight. He even criticizes the Socs. He knows that society treats the Greasers unfairly.

Dally's challenges are, he doesn't really have a family besides the gang, he's been arrested multiple times, he grew up in jail basically, and he had to raise himself. He is courageous because, he risked a lot by trying to help Johnny and Pony to hide from the cops, even going to lengths to give them money and even a gun for protection, and also a place to hide, and he even lied to the cops to keep Johnny and Pony safe.

Darry's challenges are that he took responsibility of his brothers after their parent's death instead of sending them to an orphanage.

Darry is courageous because he sacrificed his opportunities that he had to possibly going to college. He also started working multiple jobs to provide for his brothers. By putting his brother's needs before his, Darry took on much more responsibility than most kids his age.

Johhny courageous can be scared but he is also brave at the same time. He stood up to dally for the girls, and saved Ponyboy's life by killing Bob at the fountain in the park, and ran into the burning building to save the kids knowing he was risking his life to do so. Johhny's challenges are he didnt have a lot of money, and his parents were not good to him, plus his dad abused him, and he would get beat up by Bob.
