I think fake news should be deleted because when people read things that are wrong and or mean and wrong people can get very depressed leading to death or serious harm to self.

I think that platforms should get rid of fake news sometimes. According to the Digital wellness lab they did a study on high school students. When the high school students were shown a picture they believed the image they were shown and thought it was real with no knowledge of the source or accuracy of the image. This shows that our future generation that is going to run everything in the world is not going to know what is real and what is not. I'm not saying all people don't know how to know what is fake news, bias, or true. I just thinks we just need to find a better way to deal with this problem instead of getting rid fake news not knowing who is getting rid of this information that could help us or is adding and telling us what is real and fake when it is not. There is also another good reason to get rid of fake news. Many people also harm themselves because of fake news getting spread about them. My real opinion on this topic has changed from yes to sometimes. I think this is because we get rid of all fake news sometimes because it can hurt people emotionally, but it can also make us not know what is fake and real because if we give the government or people we don't know to much control or power of what is getting rid of we don't know if they are and just telling us what they want us to know or not.

I think that we should not get rid of fake news. According to the P.E.W research center over 63% of Americans said that algorithms that get rid of fake news are not helpful and does not make news any more trustable. Also just because a source doesn't have false information doesn't;t mean the source isn't bias or leaves a part of the true out. sources that are bias and those other characteristics are arguably worse than putting out blant fake news.

But for my personal opinion I think that fake news should be taken off platforms. I think this because especially fake medical news can impact people negatively. According to Forbes about 5,800 people were hospitalized due to false information during Corona. Most of them died trying to drink bleach or chemical cleaning products thinking that can cure their disease.
