When they enter, two teachers questions who are they, but Thalia was able it manipulate the mist and trick one of the teachers, but not the other. Yet, they both allow the group to pass and enter a dance party going on at Westover Hall. They find Grover and Grover informs them that the teacher that was not fooled, named Dr. Thorn, is a monster. They plan on how to rescue the half-bloods and distract Dr. Thorn, who is approaching them as they speak. They find the half-bloods, but then Dr. Thorn grabs them before Percy can. They both go outside and Percy finds the half-bloods scared and backed into a corner. Percy tries to calm them, but then he was attacked by Dr. Thorn. He becomes too weak to attack him and instead listens to him talk, which keeps him distracted while Percy sends a distress signal to Grover, which works but then silver arrows pass them, and a group called the Hunters of Artemis appears. Everyone including the group attacked Dr. Thorn, but then he lunges at Thalia and Percy who were both hit and weak, but Annabeth counterattacks with her knife. Her name is Thalia Grace, a daughter of Zeus. It is presumed that she stayed at the camp and befriended Percy between books, and also learned how to manipulate Mist, a type of magic that makes mortals see something differently, as she used it at the start of Titan's Curse. A massive event where powerful monsters, gods, and goddesses awake from sleep, is revived, or come out of hiding. Artemis states that she's going to leave the hunters to go hunt a powerful monster, and leaves Zoë Nightshade, a lieutenant of the goddess, to be in charge, and stay at Camp Half-Blood while she's gone. During the talk, Bianca di Angelo, one of the half-bloods saved from Westover hall becomes a hunter, who becomes immortal but cannot have any relationship with a boy. Her younger brother, Nico di Angelo, is told by Bianca to stay at Camp Half-Blood since she will not be with him anymore. After that, Percy and his friends are told to not go on any quests to find Annabeth, and that they will have a Capture the Flag game tomorrow against the hunters. When Percy falls asleep, he has a dream/vision of Luke, a friend of Annabeth and Thalia, who became a villain, tricking Annabeth to hold the ceiling of a cavern that collapsed and fell on Luke. Percy tells Grover about his dream and tries to ask the Oracle, which is in the Big House, for help. In which it doesn't respond. After losing against the hunters in the Capture the Flag game, the Oracle left the big house and walked up to the group. Chiron, the activities director stated that it has never left the Big House. The Oracle tells a prophecy that leads to the quest to save Artemis, as part of the prophecy was that a Goddess was in chains. Zoë, Thalia, Bianca, Grover, and Phoebe who is a hunter, were chosen to go on the quest, but Percy protested, wanting to go as well, but he realizes that he only wants to go to save Annabeth. Percy then goes to bed having another vision/dream with Artemis replacing Annabeth who is still holding up the ceiling, and an unknown voice tells Luke to kill Annabeth, but he convinces him to not for now. When he wakes up, his pegasus whom he saved in Sea of Monsters, Blackjack, is with him, telling him that a baby sea cow is stuck, which he saves and names the animal, Bessie. (This will be important later.) When Percy returns to land, he finds Nico eavesdropping on some hunters and proceeds to watch him without him knowing using Annabeth's invisibility cap. It turns out that Phoebe can't go because some campers pulled a prank by making her wear a shirt that was covered in a type of blood that is poisonous to the hunters. Nico was going to walk up and take her place so he can be with his sister, but Percy stops him and says that he will watch over the group and his sister. Eventually, the group stops at a space museum, and Percy later follows and tells Blackjack to fly back to camp. But then Percy notices that he is stuck in vines, and notices that Dionysus, one of the camp directors, caught him sneaking out, but let him go, hoping he would die. Then Percy finds Luke and the unknown voice who is called the general is also in the space museum. Percy wears the invisibility cap and listens to the general state that he has a "surprise" for the group, then he watches the general plant dinosaur teeth into the ground and waters them with blood to create skeleton warriors which are hard to kill. The general gives the warriors a cloth with the hunter's scent, but then Percy takes it, and the warriors instead bite out a chunk of Percy's shirt and now have his scent. Percy runs off to warn the group, which is upset and surprised to see him when a Neman Lion, the general's "surprise" attacks the group. Since its hide is completely damage-proof, the group finds out its mouth is the only weak spot, and when Percy notices, he finds space food from the gift shop which makes the lion gag, and Zoë lands the final blow. And even though she was the one to kill it, she gives the pelt of the lion to Percy for feeding it the space food, which then transforms into a jacket. It turns out it was apollo, who was in incognito. He told Percy to look for Nereus, someone who knows everything, and forces Percy to fall asleep. When he wakes up, he's in a town in New Mexico called Cloudcroft. They try to take a break when Grover falls over and states that Pan is near, who is the god of satyrs. At the same time, the skeleton warriors arrived and start fighting, one of the warriors was disintegrated by Bianca's knife which doesn't stop the others from shooting, and Percy gets hit, but the pelt turns out to be bullet-proof, and Grover states that Pan is very near, and at the same time, a massive boar called the Erymanthian Boar temporarily destroys the warriors, and the group uses it to ride further out to find Artemis.]]> 2023-04-03 03:04:04 UTC https://padlet.com/kaipablo/ladonwake/wish/2541637034 kaipablo https://padlet.com/kaipablo/ladonwake/wish/2541684771 The boar told Grover that it can't go any further, so they stop at the Junkyard of the Gods, a place where all the gods drop their trash. This is also where Ares, the god of war, meets Percy again but doesn't attempt to kill him as Aphrodite, the god of love, talks to him and talks about how he like Percy because of how he like Annabeth. Later, the group enters the junkyard and is told by Percy to not touch anything. They continue to move forward and find a smaller, yet still tall version of Talos, a robot made by a god. They leave safely, until Talos wakes up, and the group finds out that Bianca took a figure to give to Nico, who loved the figurines and was the only one he didn't have. Talos was hard to damage, but there was a hole in his foot. Percy told Bianca that he'll enter the insides, but Bianca does it instead because she took the figurine, and told Percy to give the figurine to Nico if she doesn't come back. Talos falls, but Bianca isn't found. The group decided that she had died while inside the machine, as part of the prophecy states that, "one shall be lost in the land without rain" as the junkyard is in a desert. When he goes up to it, he finds some skeleton warriors heading his way, so he tries to escape by joining a tour group. The skeleton warriors find him down there, and Percy's weapon spears a girl, but since his weapon is a certain material, it doesn't hurt her at all. But at the same time, she's not supposed to see that it's a sword. She starts arguing but Percy tries to manipulate the Mist to trick the girl but it doesn't work. But she helps him when she realizes that the warriors were coming after him, by tricking them and letting Percy leave. Percy warns his group, which found the snack bar and can see the skeleton warriors from there. Grover starts a food fight and the group leaves while chaos unfolds. So he fights him and succeeds. Percy decides to ask about the monster that Artemis was hunting, and it turns out to be Bessie which is an Ophiotaurus. When someone burns their entrails, they will have the power to even destroy Olympus. As stated by Zoë. At the same time, Dr. Thorn arrives with several mortals and tries to convince Thalia to use the Ophiotaurus. She is shaken out of it and everyone starts fighting. But Percy is reminded about iris messages, a way to communicate using coins, and sends a message to Chiron, but he wasn't there, and instead, Dionysus answered and while Percy does not like him, he still asked for help, and he did help by killing Dr. Thorn, and putting the mortals in a trance. Grover and Bessie go back to the camp with the help of Poseidon, but only because Percy sacrificed the Neman fur pelt. The group then goes to Annabeth's father's house so that they have transport to Mount Othrys, the place where Annabeth and Artemis are being kept. Annabeth's Stepmother tells Percy to remind Annabeth that she always has a place there to call home. Zoë's sisters don't allow the group to pass, so Zoë wakes up Ladon to let the group pass. Percy enters Mount Othrys to find Annabeth gagged, with Luke and the general, which turns out to be not just any general, but Kronos' general, Atlas. Plus, the group finds Artemis lifting the ceiling, which is unveiled to not be the ceiling, but instead the sky. If it drops, the sky drops as well. A fight starts and Percy takes Artemis' place so that she can fight instead of him. Part of the prophecy was that "and one shall perish by a parent's hand" in which, Zoë was revealed earlier that she's a daughter of Atlas, and proceeds to die as she was weakened by Ladon, then thrown on a pile of rocks. At the end of the fight, Atlas is tricked into carrying the sky, and Zoë is turned into a constellation, the Huntress, for what she did and to remind the world of her existence. During this time the gods talk about the situation, such as Kronos, Luke, who was "killed" in Mount Othrys but is told to still be alive, and The Great Stirring. Thalia also takes Zoë's spot so the great prophecy, that a half-blood of the big three, Hades, Poseidon, and Zeus will save or destroy Olympus by the age of 16, isn't Thalia as she was about to turn 16, but now will never be 16. And the gods decide if Percy should die so the Great Prophecy never happened. But they decide against it, and they decide to keep Bessie in Olympus so no one can ever get hold of it. After the Winter Solstice, the gods threw a party, and after that, the group went back to camp. Percy tells Nico about Bianca's death, which got him upset, and somehow, skeleton warriors got into the camp, and Nico made an opening in the earth, which swallowed them. This is when he realizes that Nico is a son of Hades and thus another son of the Big Three, and while discussing with Annabeth, Grover tells them that he heard Pam say three words in his head, "I await you."
