My name is Shayna Badian. I interned at Chatham Middle School with Mr. Raguseo. My internship experience was amazing. During my internship, I helped Mr. Raguseo with daily tasks such as organizing and cleaning the room as well as printing and making copies of paperwork. I also helped him grade several 100-word spelling tests. In addition to helping Mr. Raguseo, I helped the students with worksheets and answered any questions they had. CHS prepared me for my internship by giving me time management and organization skills. The most memorable moment from my internship was when the 8th graders would come in and we would talk about high school or their upcoming Washington D.C. trip. A good candidate for this internship would be someone with patience and someone who could see themselves teaching in the future. This was a great experience and a great end to my senior year.

My name is Kate Fox and I interned at Chatham Middle School. My internship experience was educational and extremely rewarding. My role during this internship was being an extra set of hands for the students and for my mentor, Mr. Raguseo. We assisted on reading comprehension activities, graded spelling tests, and ran things from the copy machine to other teachers. CHS has definitely prepared me for this experience by holding me accountable and showing me appropriate social skills in a classroom setting. A memorable moment from this experience would have to be just watching the students improve and grow, especially with spelling. To describe a good candidate for this internship in the future, I would say the most important skill is to have patience. Have patience with yourself, mentor, and the students. Overall this experience was very fulfilling and I would recommend it to anyone.

My name is: Ethan Versh, I interned with David Hill at Walkley Works. My internship experience was awesome, I definitely got a lot out of it while still having fun. I'd describe my role during my SIP as an apprentice, I learned to use machining tools and how fabricate various things from tools, to solar panel rigs, to decorative finishings. Something I took from my time at CHS was to communicate effectively, being on the same page as David and others made life much easier. I really enjoyed the process of actualizing projects, seeing them come to life and then be used for their practical purpose. A good candidate this internship in the future is someone who likes creating things, and working with their hands and possesses a lot of patience. Overall, I can't recommend this internship enough, anyone who is interested should pursue it.

My name is Nicole Sim. I interned at Chatham High School with Mrs. Long. My internship was better than I could have imagined. I had several responsibilities including creating lesson plans for all levels of biology. I created certain activities and labs throughout. I also had to clean and organize the lab prep room to make sure the biology teachers had access to a clean and organized space. I believe that CHS helped me prepare for this internship as the combination of classes that I took throughout my 4 years allowed me to be level-headed during a stressful situation and be creative when thinking of solutions throughout. I loved working with Mrs. Long as she has such a fun and creative way of teaching but is so invested on helping her students. She loves teaching, and makes it so the students are engaged throughout the course. I think that the person would have to be organized and would help if they were a lab assistant in the past. They should like to be around children. This was a great way to spend the last couple weeks of my senior year.

My name is Lila Tapper. I interned at the Chatham Borough Finance office. My internship was very memorable. I utilized resources such as Word and Excel that I normally do not use. I also learned a lot more about what it is like to be in the finance industry. The biggest responsibility I held was returning tax overpayments that had been building up over the years. In order to do this a lot of research had to be done to figure out how to get the money back to these people. I feel as though CHS taught me how to work hard and be responsible. Thus being both extremely important qualities at my internship. I loved the sense of community at my internship and their ability to make me feel included. In the future, I feel as though a good candidate for this internship must be hardworking and interested in finance.

My name is Shannon Carey. I interned at Chatham Middle School in the Cooking classroom with Mrs. Georgio-Maranzino. Throughout my internship I was able to help prepare food labs, clean the kitchens, prepare lessons, and help the students on their projects. My internship experience was very positive and rewarding. I am grateful for the relationship I was able to build with my mentor, and the Middle School students, and to be able to see the students succeed. CHS gave me strong communication, problem solving and leadership skills that I was able to use, and also offered the freedom for me to take classes I enjoyed such as a Nutrition class which I was able to relate to my internship. A future candidate should be able to think on their feet, and be outgoing to be able to best help the students, and have the best experience. Overall, I have had an amazing internship experience!

StretchLab - Gabby Jupin

My name is Gabby Jupin. I interned at Stretchlab located in Summit, NJ. I loved my internship experience. As someone who is going into college undecided, I am unsure of what field I would want to pursue yet being at Strethchlab, I have become more interested in advertising and marketing. During my internship, I was in charge of running and organizing the Stretchlab social media pages. This included Instagram and Facebook. I also created company newsletters and worked with customers to receive testimonials. I spent most of my time at the front desk yet I was also able to visit the different studios which was exciting. This allowed me to take a variety of photos and videos I could then upload as stories, posts, or reels. At CHS, I learned how important it is to work well with others. While at Stretchlab, I was given many assignments that involved working with others, whether it was other employees or customers. I made sure that everyone's opinion was heard when creating content to make it the best it could possibly be. One thing I loved about my internship was the people I was working with. I felt quickly welcomed by all the staff as well as the customers. All the flexologists and front desk employees were always willing to help me and answer any questions I had. Additionally, I loved all the different opportunities I had while interning at Stretchlab. One memorable moment was the pop-up event Stretchlab held at the Morris County Country Club. I was able to take lots of pictures and videos of golfers who would stop in to get a stretch which was fun. A good candidate for this internship in the future would be someone who is outgoing and creative, yet someone who can work well with others. Being able to make relationships with customers is also extremely important, especially if you plan to ask them to be involved in the company's social media. Interests in the business fields such as marketing and advertising, or interests in social media, photography, and graphic design would all also be great interests that would align with this internship.

Chatham Middle School - Cooper Hnatov

My name is: Cooper Hnatov

I interned at: The Chatham Middle School

My internship experience was: It was instructive because it reminded me of many of the basic lessons that I had completed long ago and it helped to humble and prepare me for college by reinforcing my base knowledge in french.

Describe your role and responsibilities during your internship: While on internship, I was taught by Mme. Marshall, a french teacher at the middle school. While there, I helped to create lesson plans, tests, quizzes, and games for the students to help them learn and improve their french speaking abilities. When students were absent, I was responsible for getting them back up to speed and teaching them the lesson. On top of this, I was also responsible for telling the 8th graders what high school was like for me and how they could better prepare themselves for it.

Describe how you think CHS prepared you for your internship: CHS was able to prepare me for my internship by not only teaching me the subject material for the classes I helped teach but it also taught me how to work with others and how to make compromises where they needed to be made. Specifically, through some of my classes as well as being on the baseball team, I had plenty of time working with underclassmen who at times, didn’t fully understand a topic or the lesson. Due to this, I would try to help those people and get them back up to speed which then prepared me for teaching the students at CMS.

What did you love about your internship OR what is most memorable about your experience? The main thing that I loved about my internship was that after a certain amount of time, many of the students turned to me for assistance rather than just going straight to Mme. Marshall or their computers. This showed me that they were beginning to trust me and appreciate me for being there to help them in the areas where they struggled.

Who would be a good candidate for this internship in the future? What qualities/skills/interests are important to have? A good candidate for this internship would be someone who not only is good at the French language, but also someone who enjoys it and who wants to learn more about the language itself. If the intern is not interested in French and or does not speak it well, it may be extremely difficult for he or she to successfully teach the class and the students. They must also be patient when dealing with the students because like everyone, they are not able to understand things immediately and therefore the intern must be able to move at their pace as well as their own.

My internship experience was really good, I learned a lot about working with kids while having a lot of fun. My main roles were maintenance of the classroom and assisting the kids with their Shark Tank project. Skills I learned in CHS that prepared me for this internship were presenting and teamwork skills. I loved getting to work with the kids and all the connections I made, and for someone looking to do this internship in years to come, skills I recommend having are flexibility and improvisation.

Hi. My name is Elsa Spoor. I interned at Oak Knoll. My internship experiences was informative and fun. My role was shadowing the athletic trainer at school and during games and practices. She taught me about how she takes care of the injuries the teams currently had. I took exercise physiology my junior year at Chatham High School which helped me understand a little better about the role of an athletic trainer that I would have without that class. I really enjoyed being around everyone who worked at Oak Knoll because the athletic staff was so welcoming and they made my time there super enjoyable. Someone who can handle being busy well would be a good candidate for this internship because at times there could be seven girls in the office asking for something and you need to attend to everyone. I also think people who have had injuries in the past that keep them from performing athletics will like this job because you feel more inclined to help those when you have been in their shoes before.

My internship experience was insightful because I learned so many things in the financial world and took away a lot of key values I will carry with me. Around the office I had a lot of responsibilities like transferring calls, getting coffee, and reading financial reports. CHS did an amazing job preparing me for this by helping me mature throughout high school and also the business classes like financial literacy that helped me in the office. I loved being in the office setting and the exposure everything in my environment had engulfed me in.

My name is Remi Levato and I interned at Lafayette Avenue School in the Library Media Center. My internship experience was exciting. When originally meeting all of the fourth and fifth grade classes that came into the library, I introduced myself. I also checked books in and out, and this time of the year is very busy at the library as all of the books have to be returned by the end of the school year and there are many projects going on at once. CHS helped me in many ways with this internship. This includes building strong relationships with the people I worked with. Also, taking art classes in high school also helped me with my creativity when constructing the bulletin board. To add, by being co-captain of the varsity girls golf team, it gave me leadership skills which helped me being a role model for the younger students. A good candidate for this internship would need to be artistic and creative. Overall, this internship was a great experience and I had so much fun. I would definitely recommend it for future senior interns.

My name is Jamie Lynch and I interned at Chatham Middle School with Mrs. PK.
My internship experience was insightful. During my internship, I mainly worked with the fly lines. These raise backdrops up and down on the stage. I also helped paint set pieces, and worked to organize the props for different plays. I helped the theater and stagecraft students with the plays that they put on in class, and I also helped Mrs. PK with grading. I think that CHS prepared me for my internship by teaching me how to work best with other people. I was working with Mrs. PK, my two fellow interns, and the students all at the same time, and we needed to work together so that things could run smoothly. The most memorable part of my experience on internship was being able to work with the fly lines and set pieces for one last time. I have volunteered at the middle school in the auditorium in the past, and it was fun to work with other seniors in helping the students. A good candidate for this internship in the future would be someone who has a lot of patience working with teenage kids, and who also has some sort of interest in the theatrical field. A lot of the work that we did revolved around the stage and the mechanics of what it takes to put on a show, and the internship definitely requires some level of interest. This internship is a lot of fun, and I hope that future students will choose to intern with Mrs. PK in later years.

Physics Intern-Charlotte Bandekow

My name is Charlotte Bandekow. I interned at Chatham High School with the Physics Department, specifically for Mr. Lee. My internship experience was exciting and enjoyable. During my internship, my fellow intern and I essentially acted as full-time lab assistants for the physics department. We helped to prepare for the big end-of-year project, Conqueror of the Hill. Additionally, we helped run matches, check benchmarks, and cut materials for the competition. Further, we helped set up some of the physical science labs for Ms. Crampton’s class. We also fixed some of the demo equipment like the mini power plant and the Vandergraff machine. One of the larger projects we completed was a complete redesign of the six flags packet which is handed out as a major point acquisition during the annual great adventure field trip taken by the physics classes. CHS prepared me for my internship by providing me with the opportunity to be a lab assistant during the year. Additionally, by taking Mr. Mariano’s Intro to Design and Innovation class, I was certified to use CHS’s power tools. This was necessary for my internship. The most memorable part of my internship was the amount of time I was able to spend with the physics teachers and my fellow intern. The interactions and relationships within this internship made it an incredible experience that I am very grateful to have had. I’m honestly very sad to end it. A good candidate for this internship is someone who obviously loves physics, is able to get things done in a timely manner, and is certified to use Mr. Mariano’s power tools.

I interned at the CHS Art Department. My internship experience was exciting and had new experiences every day. I was in charge of organizing the Art Show for this year, and I had to ensure the correct artwork went to the right person after. CHS prepared me by giving me a sense of responsibility right off the bat during freshman year. This allowed me to get done what I needed to get done in an efficient manner. I loved having my friends as fellow interns and having my favorite teachers as my mentors because they just made for a more fun environment. Any Pre AP students this year should definitely consider being an intern in their AP year because you get to see art being made from the other side of things. It’s important to be patient and creative, because you often have to improvise when things don't go your way.

JAG-ONE Physical Therapy - Lindsey Bresnahan

My name is Lindsey and I interned at JAG-ONE physical therapy. My internship experiences was educational. While I was there, I watched the physical therapists work on patients, assisted patients with their exercises, got people heat, ice, and equipment, talked with the patients, cleaned tables, and did laundry. CHS prepared me well because I took exercise science at CHS which gave me a basic understanding of the different muscles and how they work. Certain terms they used at PT were already familiar to me because of the exercise science class. I really enjoyed watching therapists work on patients. My mentor was moved to a different clinic a few days a week, so I watched a lot of different therapists who came in to cover for him at the Chatham office. I found it so interesting how each therapist had a different technique for treating the same injury. I also liked getting to know the patients and seeing them progress each week. If you are interested in entering a health science field or are just interested in how all the muscles work together I would definitely recommend interning at a physical therapy office.

My name is Skate Lapus. I interned at Lafayette Avenue School with Mr. Cleary. My internship experience was meaningful to me because I was able to reconnect with the fourth grade teacher that I had and make connections with the students. As an intern, I had to be a positive role model for the fourth graders. The class spent a lot of time meeting with their book club groups, so I had the responsibility to make sure the meetings ran smoothly and effectively. CHS always pushed me as a student and as an individual. Going to Chatham, it has taught me to manage my time and be able to handle my busy schedule. When I started my internship at LAF I knew that I was fully prepared to adapt to the new schedule and be able to respond to any task that I was given. I loved being able to connect with the students over the four weeks. Each day the students had the opportunity to share stories and ask me, the other intern, and Mr. Cleary questions. Anyone who is kind, enthusiastic, and a big Harry Potter fan would be a great intern for Mr. Cleary!

My name is Liz Yarcheski and I interned at the Reeves- Reed Arboretum. My internship experiences was engaging, active, and interesting. Each day we were given different tasks to do throughout the grounds. We were never bored and always had something to keep us busy. Often these tasks required us to do physically hard things, like mulching. Alongside the different jobs that we did the workers were also teaching us different things about the plants and trees at the arboretum. At the arboretum we were in charge of managing and keeping the grounds. We often were given tasks like water flowers, weeding, getting rid of invasive species, and mulching beds. Another common task we had was planting flowers and trees. CHS helped prepare me for my internship by teaching me how to follow instructions and work with others. Each day we were often given many instructions about how to complete tasks, so it was important that we listen carefully to our instructors. There were also other interns at the arboretum so it was important that we were able to work well together to effectively complete our tasks. Overall, loved being able to see how my work was benefiting the community and arboretum as a whole. Our work did not go unnoticed and people who visited the ground would often come up to us and tell us what a good job we did. I felt very appreciated by the staff, who were very nice and organized. I also loved being able to be outside and work aside with other interns my age. Someone who would enjoy this internship is a person who enjoys being outdoors in nature would enjoy this internship. Someone that is looking for an internship that is very much hands on and physically engaging. I think if someone has an interest in gardening or plants and the environment would really love this internship. Lastly, one of my favorite memories was when me and kelsea planted a tree in the woods. We had to dig a very deep hole but when it was finished it was very rewarding.

My name is: Lola Polishuk

I interned at: The Chatham Middle School

My internship experience was interactive and had lots of creative juices flowing every second of the day.

Describe your role and responsibilities during your internship: Some of the responsibilities I had during my internship were mostly based around the idea of setting up for the art show, and making sure everything was set up for people to browse the artwork. Another responsibility I had was to make sure everything was taken down from the art show, and stored away for next year. It was a lot of hard work but with a lot of help we achieved our goals, and had an amazing art show.

Describe how you think CHS prepared you for your internship: I think Chatham High School prepared me for my internship by teaching me to learn to communicate with others around me, and by learning to work with others in any environment given to me. I think communication was a big role played last week because it wouldn't have been possible without everyone communicating so well together.

What did you love about your internship OR what is most memorable about your experience? Something I loved about my internship was reuniting with Mrs. Keseshen and helping everyone out with the art show because you can truly see that everyone puts so much effort into setting it up, and trying to make it look perfect for families. Something that was most memorable for me was making a lot of new friends in middle school, and learning that even when there is a big challenge you will get through it because of all the help I was surrounded by.

Who would be a good candidate for this internship in the future? What qualities/skills/interests are important to have? A good candidate for this internship would be someone who likes working with art, and someone who enjoys organizing a lot of materials. This internship is very hands on, so I would say this would be an internship for someone who likes working with others. Some skills that are important to have at this internship are teamwork and communication because you work with so many people around you.

Any last thoughts or reflections about your internship you want to share? (if not, do not include in your video) This internship was so fun, and I recommend this internship for everyone that is looking for an internship that is very interactive.

My name is Emily Varley and I interned at St.Hubert’s. My internship experience was definitely insightful as it was a really cool learning experience that will help me in the animal science field. In the shelter in the mornings I cleaned either kennels or the catteries throughout the shelter. I would sanitaize, rinse, scrub, provide clean linens, and fresh water for the dogs on the days I were assigned to them. And for the cats, I would sweep, sanitize, provide fresh litter boxes, food, water, linens, and reorganize their rooms. In the afternoons, I would typically be doing the shelter’s laundry and folding clean linens, or putting away donated items to their respective places. I think that CHS prepared me by allowing me to make such wonderful connections with many people who worked in the shelter. I was able to communicate with them if I needed help, and learn about their jobs and what they do. Something that I loved about my internship was the animals. It was so cool to be able to help them and give them a clean space to live in. On the days where I didn’t have much to do, I would help socialize the cats and help them become more comfortable with people. Someone who would be a good candidate for this internship definitely has to be hardworking and willing. There is a lot of being on your feet for hours and cleaning up gross things. But in the end it is very rewarding and fun. All in all, this internship was a wonderful experience and I am sad that it is ending.

CHS Computer Science Internship - Alexander Chatterjee

Hello everyone! My name is Alexander Chatterjee, and I interned with Mr. Hajdu, the computer science teacher at Chatham High School. Overall, my internship was just as fun as it was educational!

During my internship, I had two main responsibilities. My first one was to modify the current computer science curriculum through comprehensive coding and rigorous testing. By coding JUnit Tests, I was able to design self-grading programs which could help students identify common errors. Additionally, I tested cybersecurity labs to determine its relevance, effectiveness, and ease of teaching. My second responsibility—and the part of my internship I loved the most—was to my pupils. During my internship, I took six students under my wing and taught them advanced topics in order to test my JUnit Tests. As I was teaching and assisting my students, I was able to feel a glimpse of what Mr. Hajdu does on a daily basis! The whole experience was very enlightening.

Chatham High School properly prepared me for the internship. In particular, my prior computer science classes helped me be able to efficiently and effectively program while my prior engineering classes helped me with my flexible problem solving skills. For example, when I first started designing my JUnit Tests, I was stuck with how to implement them. The original JUnit Tests only checked for specific variables while I needed to identify designated outputs. Thanks to my problem solving skills, I was able to creatively implement my own variation by using my programming skills to learn about the ByteArrayOutputStream and PrintStream classes. For future candidates of my internship, I cannot stress these two skills enough—it’s not enough to think outside the box, you need to act outside of the box!

Once again, my name is Alexander Chatterjee, and thank you so much for listening to my presentation!

We learned a lot of things we can use in the future. Our responsibilities were preparing charts for the next day’s patients, doing I and Rs which involved teaching patients how to insert and remove their contacts for the first time, scanning and shredding documents, and and learning about the anatomy of the eye from the doctors. CHS prepared us for our internship because we were organized and had both the self-accountability and time management to stay on task. We really enjoyed working with the staff because they were very helpful, patient, and kind. A good candidate for this internship in the future would be someone who’s organized, hardworking, and motivated. We would recommend interning here with another student because it makes the experience more fun and enjoyable because you have someone to collaborate with.

My name is: Baker Carroll. I interned at: Mr.Cleary's classroom at Lafayette avenue school. My internship experience was (one or more words to describe it): Incredible, I got to see what it's really like to be an elementary school teacher every day. The kids are amazing and I am so happy I got so close with many of them. During the internship we helped Mr.Cleary pass out papers, grade tests, and general cleaning and organizing in the classroom. We also had to learn how to deal with kids when they acted up or needed to be talked to. This rarely happened as Mr.Cleary had a fantastic class. I have had multiple wonderful teachers at CHS over my four years there and I tried to model off of them when I was in the classroom with Mr.Cleary. A handful of the amazing kids trusting me with their questions about middle school and high school are really gonna stick with me. They looked up to me as a helper teacher and mentor. A couple of girls I know from dance such as Sofia Naguada and Riley Druhot would be amazing with fourth graders and carrying similar responsibilities that I had. I have seen them be very good with kids and they have upbeat and outgoing personalities. I had such an amazing time!!

I also helped create a new business card with better quality for Estate Sales.

Describe how you think CHS prepared you for your internship: Pretty good because over the course of high school we do lots of group projects, so working with others at these sales was easy to do since I was used to working in groups.

What did you love about your internship OR what is most memorable about your experience?

My name is Katie Colleton and I interned at Fleur de Sel on Main Street. My internship experience was fun and entertaining. My responsibilities for my internship included serving customers, boxing pastries, making coffees, cleaning the store, learning how to ring customers up, learning how to deal with difficult or upset customers, and learning how the front of the house works with the back of the house. I think the main thing that CHS prepared me for with my internship was how to deal with challenges and manage many things at once. one of the main skills needed to work in a bakery that has, at times, a rapid flow of customers is knowing how to manage everyone at once. I had practice with this with my school work and learning how to manage multiple classes in multiple components of something at one time. Something I loved about my internship is getting to know the people that work there and really bonding with them far more than I anticipated. sharing stories of growing up and Chatham with the alumni that work there was really fun and interesting and made the whole experience more positive. Someone I would recommend this internship to is someone who has good people skills and is capable of getting to know new co-workers as well as socializing with customers occasionally would be a good candidate for this internship because it is a lot of socialization .

My name is: Campbell Lee

I interned at: Chatham High School with Mrs. Green. She was my math teacher for my freshmen and sophomore years. She teaches three Honors Algebra 2 classes and two Algebra 2 B classes.

My internship experience was (one or more words to describe it): My internship was enlightening and fun.

Describe your role and responsibilities during your internship: On a daily basis, I’d walk around the classroom while the students worked in case they needed to ask a question on their assignments. Almost every week, I’d work on making answer keys for the students’ assignments. There was even a class that I got to teach myself. As for long term responsibilities, I worked on the Math Olympics, which the Algebra 2 students do every year. I created worksheets for the days they’d have this event as well as corresponding answer sheets.

Describe how you think CHS prepared you for your internship: At CHS, I learned effective time management and communication skills. These were necessary during my internship when I needed to balance certain work or when I taught a class myself.

What did you love about your internship OR what is most memorable about your experience? I loved the relationships I got to create with other students. I felt supported by them in an environment that I wasn’t used to, and I’m so thankful for how welcoming they all were this entire time. I thought it was also really interesting to see the teachers’ perspective of the classroom and the ways that they organize their lessons for the students.

Who would be a good candidate for this internship in the future? What qualities/skills/interests are important to have? Good candidates for this internship would be people that are interested in being teachers or that are interested in pursuing a career having to do with math. While in the classroom, Mrs. Green teaches many interesting lessons that are valuable for all math studies. She is not only a great role model for any aspiring teachers, but she’s also a role model for work in the real world.

I myself attended Milton Ave elementary, and it was super cool to experience another first grade class at an entirely different school. It was also so nice to go back to the first-grade world and experience it as a senior. I was a teacher assistant and mainly helped the kids with work, passed out papers, ran errands, and did small things around the classroom. I think that a good candidate for this internship in the future would be someone who works well with kids and has a lot of patience. This has been the highlight of my senior year, and I cannot recommend it more!

My name is Bella Bankert and I interned at JAG-One Physical Therapy. I had a very positive and informative experience at my internship. During my internship, I took on many various roles. I did a few housekeeping tasks such as cleaning tables and doing the laundry, but I also got patients heat/ice and the equipment they needed for their exercises. Mainly though, I got to shadow a PT and was able to talk to many different patients as well as learn about different injuries and the care for those injuries. I think CHS prepared me for my internship by teaching me self advocacy, how to work hard, and also how to interact with all different types of people. I loved being able to interact with patients on a regular basis and learn how each patient has different needs. I think being able to work with all different types of people is a very important skill to have in life and I made a lot of great connections through my internship. I also really enjoyed shadowing the PTS and being able to learn about different bones and muscles throughout the body while also learning how to care for those injuries through a treatment plan. A good candidate for this internship in the future would be someone who is good at communication, has good time management skills, and has somewhat of an interest in the field of physical therapy.

My name is Kiera Yarcheski. I interned at the Reeves-Reed Arboretum in Summit NJ. The words I would use to describe my internship are engaging, educational, and rewarding. During my internship, I had to help maintain the plants and flowers. We helped plant, mulch, weed, water, and more to maintain all of the beds at the arboretum. We also spent some time in the woods where we spent a few days clearing brush and then planting new trees. I think CHS prepared me for this internship because I had to use problem-solving skills. For example, we had to figure out how to tie up a branch that had snapped and was dangling from a tree. We used our knowledge from physics about where to place the strings that would best support the tree branch to the tree. What I loved about my internship is the people that I met. The people in charge were so gracious and grateful for our help. The work we did never went unnoticed and we felt very appreciated for the work we did there. The people that work at the arboretum are also so kind and passionate about horticulture and the environment, I find it inspiring to pursue a career that actually makes you happy and fulfilled with your life. I think someone who is interested in the environment and plants would absolutely love this internship. I also think someone who is willing to put in physical effort would be best for this because it was rigorous physical work that we had to do mostly.

My name is Anna DeCesare and I interned at Chatham Middle School with Ms. Goldberg’s 6th grade science classes. I would describe my internship experience as rewarding and amazing. During my internship, I graded the students' cell tests and projects, was in charge of running the review games prior to the tests, printed and made copies of assignments, redecorated the classroom bulletin boards, and acted as a mentor and a source of guidance for the students. CHS prepared me for my internship by giving me studying techniques that I was able to pass on to the students and additional insight into high school, which many of them had questions about. CHS also taught me how to act as a leader through various clubs and organizations that I have participated in throughout high school but also as a helping hand for the students. CHS has also helped me develop my creativity which I had to use when creating the new bulletin boards. I loved that at my internship I was able to use the knowledge that I have learned over the years to help out the students. I was able to help the students complete their labs using the microscopes as I have had lots of practice with them in my biology and forensics classes at the high school. This also was helpful as it helps to remind me of what I have learned and put my skills to real use. The students were also so excited when the microscopes were focused and they could actually see their specimens under the microscope. Someone who has a lot of patience and enjoys helping others and using their creativity would be a good candidate for this internship.

I'm Kelsea Lee and I interned at the Reeves-Reed Arboretum. My internship experiences was a good learning experience. Based off of my time with the arboretum, I learned how to use different lawn equipment and planting skills. Something I really enjoyed learning was how to plant a tree. In the woods, we had to clear out a space full of invasive plants and then dig a large hole to plant a tree. At the arboretum I work alongside the few directors in the horticulture department. All the employees there are very knowledgeable and work independently based off of their various tasks that need to be fulfilled. Throughout my day there I will help fulfill the tasks that I am asked to complete. CHS prepared me for this internship because through multiple assignments I gained a good work ethic which helped me get what is asked of me done at the arboretum. My most memorable experience was ripping out invasive species from the woods. We had to pull grapevine from off the tops of trees and then dig the roots up from the ground. This was very tiring but so much fun. For someone to be a good candidate for this internship in the future, this person should be someone who enjoys the outdoors as well as someone who is a hard worker.

Lafayette Avenue School - Zoya Nisar

My name is: Zoya Nisar

I interned at: Lafayette Avenue School

My internship experiences was (one or more words to describe it): I would describe my internship experience as memorable because I got to see what it was like to be a teacher, and it was fun to spend time with the kids in the school I went to as a child.

Describe your role and responsibilities during your internship: In my internship I mostly graded their papers. Usually I would grade them, and then Mrs. Marshall would call the students back to explain to them what they did wrong. I also helped Mrs. Marshall around the classroom. Since I came in at the end of the year she started to pack up her classroom, so I helped her clean the whiteboards, check if the markers were still working, and label her materials. I also did some little things to help her out such as handing out papers, getting papers from the printer, dropping materials to other teachers, and putting the students work in their mailboxes. Finally, I also went with them to specials such as Library. They also had DT, music, Spanish, gym, and art.

Describe how you think CHS prepared you for your internship: I think CHS prepared me for this internship because I worked a lot in groups which helped me develop patience and people skills which are two things that you need to deal with the students. I also had incredible teachers at CHS who were role models to me, so I tried to act like them around the kids so I could be a mentor for them too. Finally, being the president of a club at CHS taught me leadership skills which I think is needed to be able to engage the kids.

What did you love about your internship OR what is most memorable about your experience? I loved connecting with the students. They were all so sweet and I loved talking with them because of how funny they were. My sister was also in the switch class, and it was nice spending a little extra time with her before I leave for college. I thought it was fun to see her in school. Finally, I just loved being in Lafayette because I went there when I was younger so I was able to see and talk to my fourth grade teacher, Mr. Cleary. Also, the Spanish teacher who taught the fourth graders taught me in middle school, so it was nice to reconnect with her as well. I was able to see how some things stayed the same, but some were definitely different.

Who would be a good candidate for this internship in the future? What qualities/skills/interests are important to have? I would definitely recommend someone who has patience because you need patience to be able to teach them and help them in what they did wrong. Another quality I would say is important is being outgoing and talkative because I think the way you make a connection with the kids is when you talk to them about things that they like or want to talk about. Then when they develop this connection with you they feel more comfortable asking you questions.

Also, I got certified to use power tools from taking Design and Innovation, which meant I could help students with their projects.

What did you love about your internship OR what is most memorable about your experience? The most memorable part of my experience was getting to redesign the Six Flags packet. It was difficult, but I ultimately got some insight into how these assignments are created and it felt very rewarding when it was finished.

Who would be a good candidate for this internship in the future? What qualities/skills/interests are important to have? Anyone who likes physics would be great for this internship. It would also be a good bonus to be power tool certified. Besides that, candidates should be hard working and resourceful.

Any last thoughts or reflections about your internship you want to share?

My name is: David Ruggiero
I interned at: Chatham Middle School
My internship experiences was (one or more words to describe it): Crazy, but enjoyable.
Describe your role and responsibilities during your internship: My responsibilities consisted of grading homework/classwork, Passing out papers, lab setup, and helping out students who needed help. I also helped with classwork, and assigning work to the students.
Describe how you think CHS prepared you for your internship: CHS helped me mature as a person, and it helped me gain more knowledge/experience to help the students, and teachers. It gave me a new appreciation of how much teachers do for us, and the sacrifices they make for their students. I also feel that taking biology, and anatomy prepared me for the internship because the kids worked a lot on cells and microscopes and I have had a lot of experience with that stuff.
What did you love about your internship OR what is most memorable about your experience? Some of the things I enjoyed about the internship were helping out the students, helping out the teacher, and being able to assist the labs. My most memorable moment was coming into the internship and helping out the teacher with a microscope lab because I remember that was one of my favorite things to do back in middle school, and it was cool to revisit that with more knowledge six years later.
Who would be a good candidate for this internship in the future? What qualities/skills/interests are important to have? A good candidate for this internship is someone who is good with pre teens, has a lot of patience, and is interested in science to be able to hear the same science presentations five times per day. I also think you need to have good people skills because you have to be social and outgoing 24/7 as a teacher.
Any last thoughts or reflections about your internship you want to share? (if not, do not include in your video) I would like to recommend doing the high school internship because I truly feels it helps you grow as a person.

My name is: Jeffrey Burke

I interned at: The Pediatric Center in New Providence

My internship experience was (one or more words to describe it): amazing. I felt like I was working a real job at some moments. It was definitely more interesting and involved then some of the others but I have an interest in this field which makes it enjoyable showing up and going to the internship from 8:30 to 3:30 4 times a week.

Describe your role and responsibilities during your internship: my two main projects at my internship were starting and completing a project on specialty referrals which included creating separate documents for all the specialty doctors and QR codes that link to the documents so it's easy and updated access for patients. Recorded using spreadsheets over 250 incident reports from Blue Cross Blue Shield for prepayment audits.

Describe how you think CHS prepared you for your internship: I think my experience with google, spreadsheets, docs, slides, and shortcuts was great. This was super important because the people I worked with were not as experienced with that so when I came, I helped them learn my tricks and this made doing less time consuming. I was able to do tasks in a very short time and keep pushing through the tasks they asked me to do.

What did you love about your internship OR what is most memorable about your experience? The most memorable experience would be knowing about myself. I was tasked with two main projects which felt super overwhelming but once I was working on them, I got the hang of it and started to have this desire to complete it ASAP. It took alot of determination to get through these challenges which was super great to know if I work at something I can achieve an end goal.

Who would be a good candidate for this internship in the future? What qualities/skills/interests are important to have? Someone that wants to go into the medical field is someone I would suggest. This is a super fast pace practice with not much down time and it shows you have to know what you're doing and if you don't, there are intelligent people to help you. I think you'll definitely need to be outgoing and have confidence going to a place which might seem scary. The people there want to see you do well and have a great time. They are there to support you too.

I helped prep and set up for all of the end-of-year shows. This included creating recital orders and posters as well as signs labeling a variety of things at a recital. Lastly, I was also responsible for creating surveys, helping customers, and answering the phones along with a few other small managerial tasks.

Describe how you think CHS prepared you for your internship: CHS prepared me very well for my internship by helping me develop the communication skills necessary to interact with a variety of people. From very young preschoolers all the way to their parents and grandparents, being able to convey important information in the right manner is crucial for all of the shows that we put on. Without CHS and through their open communication policies with teachers I wouldn’t have been as successful at that part of my job. CHS also taught me the importance of working efficiently and time management. My dance studio was very busy at the end of this year which meant we had to work very quickly to get everything we needed to do for all of our shows. CHS teaches us how to prioritize and accomplish a large number of tasks in a short amount of time.

What did you love about your internship OR what is most memorable about your experience? I absolutely loved being able to teach the preschoolers as in my regular dance schedule this is something that I’m not able to do. All of the kids are so lively and full of joy and therefore it was great being able to share my passion with the next generation.

Who would be a good candidate for this internship in the future? What qualities/skills/interests are important to have? To be a good candidate for an internship at Dance Innovations the individual should be good with children as well as good time management skills. They must be willing to work hard and a little dance knowledge wouldn’t hurt.

My name is Ellie Herr and I interned at the Chatham High School Theater department with Mrs. Russo. My internship experience was fun, collaborative, busy, and very rewarding. During my internship my main responsibility was to film and edit theater two mockumentary. In addition to this I also organized costume pieces, made copies of the scripts for next year's productions, organized the people's choice awards for the theater banquet, organized past scripts, and helped set up and clear the stage for various events. At CHS I took theater classes, including theater two (which was the class I worked with the most) so I was familiar with the process of creating the mockumentary. Additionally, taking Video Production, TV Production, and Honors Short Films allowed me to increase my knowledge of working with a camera and editing. All of these classes were collaborative in nature which was very helpful seeing that this internship actively requires a lot of collaboration.

I loved working with the students in theater 2! They were so much fun to be around and every student was so creative. My most memorable experience was watching the final mockumentary together as a class and everyone was laughing and smiling. It was incredibly rewarding to see that all of our hard work had turned into something so wonderfully hilarious.

A good candidate for this job is anyone who has good collaborative skills, creativity, and is open minded, because you will work with a lot of people and they are all filled with wonderful ideas. On a more technical level, candidates should be able to operate a camera and be familiar with video editing.

I had a blast doing this internship!

Hello my name is Michael Egan And I interned with Coach amster at Chatham High School. one word that I would use to describe my internship is exhilarating this is because it was always fun and there wasn't an ounce of boredom. my role as coach amster’s intern was to be able to lead and create lesson plans for her classes such as phys Ed and health. I did both of these things and more. CHS prepared me for my internship by teaching me time management skills during my internship I felt well prepared and able to juggle all my tasks throughout the day. my favorite part about the internship was belaying kids on the ropes course. this was the most memorable part because it made my day way better. a good candidate for the internship next year needs to be patient, firm, and confident in themselves.

As well as lunch and recess duty and supervising kids. I think chs helped me prepare by just over time gaining good communication skills. I felt comfortable talking to the teachers and emailing or texting them. Asking them questions ect and without emailing and getting help from my own teachers at school that experience would be very different.

My most memorable experience would be when at the end of my first week all the kids gave me cards for my birthday. They shooed me out of the room to play a game with a class next door and when i came back the lights were off and they popped out behind desks and surprised me. This happened in my other two classes as well. Just the feeling of acceptance and care from the teachers and especially the students so quickly was really amazing

A good candidate would be someone who is patient, a good listener, and ultimately able to laugh and have fun. Sometimes kids get upset and you have to be able to stay calm and help without letting it ruin your day.

My responsibilities were to write a few articles as well as edit my peers' articles who were also on internship.I think CHS had me well prepared both professionally but also skill wise. For example, high level English classes made me a good writer and is definitely a skill i've developed over my school years. Something great about this internship was the creative freedom. At our meetings Ed would ask us what we wanted to do and wasn't bossy or demanding.

My name is Katie Do and I interned with Mrs. Kreamer at Lafayette Avenue School. If I had to describe my internship experience in one word it would be exhilarating. Every single day proved to be different. Every day we had a different class and worked on different projects. Some responsibilities I had while interning included setting up and taking down the art show, redistributing art work to students and help instruct kids with their various projects. I also had to set up the classroom and clean up the room between classes. CHS was able to help me immensely. The artistic experience I got from taking art classes in school enabled me to make helpful and considerate comments. I was also able to give some fun guidance. What I love most about interning is creating a connection with different students and solidify my role as "the art teacher." By the end of the internship program many of the students felt comfortable enough to ask for help in the hallways. Some skills that would be beneficial to have includes loving to work with younger children and being able to adapt since there are many ways a plan can go off track. It was a great way to end senior year and I wish that my internship experience lasted longer.

My name is Isabelle Lewin. I interned at Lafayette Elementary School with the art teacher, Mrs. Kraemer. My internship was very entertaining and enjoyable. My responsibilities included helping Mrs. Kraemer organize her room, set up the room for incoming classes, teach the students what to do for their projects, and set up and take down the art show. CHS prepared me for my internship because being an officer and creative secretary for the chinese club allowed me to have leadership skills to handle the students, as well as taking a bunch of art classes and AP Drawing helped create a strong interest in art, which ultimately led to my choosing of an art related internship. What I really liked about my internship was helping out with the art show, because I got to see really great artworks that the Lafayette students created, as well as the other grade levels. Important skills or interests for future candidates would be an interest in art, or possibly want a career in elementary education. It definitely involves a lot of working with kids, so having patience and compassion are necessary traits.

Hi my name is Mia Riddick and I interned at Gingham Giraffe preschool. My internship experiences was interesting, I already work with kids teaching gymnastics classes, but this allowed me to see a different side to young kids, I overall really enjoyed my experience. During my internship I shadowed teachers during lessons, As for responsibilities I was in charge of leading story times, prepping and completing activities with the children, and for keeping the kids safe and organized. I think CHS helped prepare me for my internship by teaching me about classroom management along with understanding how to work with others as I worked with other teachers and with the younger students. I loved working with the kids and seeing they’re view on life. It was fun to get close with them and form a bond in such a short amount of time. A good candidate for this internship must be patient and enjoy working with kids, you end up spending around 50 hours a week with children so if you don’t like them it’s going to be hard to truly enjoy the experience.

My name is Sophie Koehler. I interned at Chatham Middle School with Mrs. Packie. My internship experiences was fun and insightfulI facilitated class discussion, made copy’s, helped the kids one on one with their work, raided papers and made relationships with different teachers. I was able to speak up for myself and that’s a skill I learned through all of my presentations and work. I loved interacting with the kids during my internship. I was specifically with 8th graders and since they are kind of close in age they were easy to talk to and interested in what you were saying. A person that is patient and positive would be a good candidate for this internship. It’s easy to get annoyed with the kids and their questions but you have to sit back and stay relaxed because they truly do care about your answers.

Your Kid's Urgent Care - Angela Yu

My name is Angela Yu

My internship was at Your Kid’s Urgent Care, located in New Providence

My internship experience was very interesting and meaningful because I was able to see many unique cases and learn how to approach them. I was also able to gain experience interacting with patients.

During my internship, I was responsible for sanitizing the rooms after each patient, taking phone calls when it was hectic, preparing and running tests, and taking patient’s vitals.

CHS prepared me by giving me the confidence to ask questions and gain hands-on experience during my internship. I was able to build a close relationship with each of the providers and ask valuable questions about their experience which definitely helped me alot.

I loved the energy in my internship. Working in urgent care, it was important to be awake and alert at all times because there was always a patient coming in and different problems to deal with. I loved how everyone worked together and communicated with each other so that everything was under control. Everyone in the facility was close and kind to each other which made “working” a fun time.

Someone who is interested in becoming a healthcare professional after high school would be a good candidate for this internship. This internship showed me how to interact with other co-workers and how there can be a lot of drama in healthcare. It is important to be understanding in healthcare because of ethics and how different people will have different opinions about treatments. What one doctor may think is beneficial, may be disagreed by another doctor. It is important to not be afraid to ask questions and be eager. If you don’t ask questions during this internship, the people there will question whether you're even interested in healthcare. It is important to be eager to perform tasks so that you gain valuable experience and show that you are determined.

I think it was such a great experience being able to intern at an urgent care so early on. I was able to ask so many questions and get answers directly from people who experienced medical school and training. I am able to take the knowledge I learned and take it with me to college. I definitely recommend reaching out to Your Kid’s Urgent Care if you are interested in becoming a healthcare professional in the future.

My name is Molly Alperowitz and I interned at Creative Speech Solutions. I would say my overall internship experience was educational, as well as engaging.

During my internship, I was mainly responsible for making materials. Creative Speech Solutions holds a summer camp, called Camp PAL every year, so I was in charge of creating activities, name tags, student bags, as well as therapist materials. I also spent a lot of time shadowing various speech and occupational therapists. I worked on basic administrative tasks, such as printing, laminating, cutting things out and filing.

CHS gave me many communication skills as well as time management strategies that reflected during my internship. CHS also taught me a lot about google doc/google sheets work that came in handy throughout the course of my internship.

What I loved most about my internship was the people. Everybody in the office was so kind to me and always willing to let me shadow or help me find something to do. It was a very welcoming and fun environment.

A good candidate for this internship would be someone who is very organized and detail oriented. You will be spending a lot of time working with google sheets and lists so it would be very helpful if you are good at managing your time. Being good with a printer would also be beneficial. Finally, I think a general interest in speech, feeding or occupational therapy would make for a much greater experience.

My name is Amy Pacchia. I interned at Chatham Middle School with Ms. Packie. My internship experience was new, enlightening, and exciting. It helped me get a sense of if I would ever want to pursue this career path after college. To the kids, I was an older student, who could help them with any questions they had, about their work, the high school, a test and more. To the teachers, I was a helping hand, I could run and get them copies if they needed, help grade quizzes, or collect papers. I did everything I could to make their classes easier for them. I think Chatham High School prepared me for my internship because the school helped me mature into the person I am today. By the help of my teachers and counselors, I have learned respect and discipline for others. It also provided classes to me like early childhood development which let me explore a child’s mind. I liked the relationships quickly built between myself and the students. They quickly grew comfortable in front of us interns. They showed us respect while also making my days more interesting with their jokes and playfulness. A good candidate for this internship in the future would be someone with patience, kindness, respect, and confidence. You need all these qualities mostly on how to handle these kids in the best way possible, kind, patient and to have the confidence to speak up to them. With that, respect for your mentor and motivation to help them out.

My name is Natalia Goldfield and I interned at Gingham Giraffe preschool. My internship experience was overall positive and enjoyable. I was responsible for assisting teachers setting up their classrooms, instructing children through crafts, and supervising play time. CHS prepared me for this internship by teaching me how a classroom should operate and how to communicate with adults. I had to talk to teachers and ask them where my help was needed and I felt comfortable doing this after communicating with teachers for so many years at CHS. I loved creating bonds with the kids and watching them interact with each other. It made me so happy when they remembered my name and would smile when they saw me every morning. A good candidate for this internship would be someone who is patient and someone who likes kids. I found myself needing to repeat instruction numerous times, making patience essential.

My name is Craig Raskin and I interned at Quantifi Solutions in Summit. Quantifi is a Fin-tech firm that has 4 global locations and produces financial software to aid banks and hedge funds. I was a part of the Quality Assurance team and my experience was engaging and interesting. The purpose of this team is to generally analyze, test and modify projects that developers in the NYC office produce. Each time the Summit office received a new load of software projects, they create ‘issues’ for what needed to be fixed in that project. I was trained and introduced to the software and services they use and generate. I specifically worked on building a python script that allows someone on the team to enter a project number and get the corresponding issues and their release notes categorized by the issue-type and the purpose of that issue. CHS prepared me well for my internship by supplying me with professional skills, computer science skills and business principles. I enjoyed how I was able to be independent, pick my hours, get my work done on my time, go out for lunch, etc. People who would be a good candidate for this internship are those who are interested in finance and technology.

My main role would probably be described as the apprentice of the studio. I mostly organized and cleaned and watched over the kids if the teacher had to go to another room. In a way CHS did prepare me for this with the art classes but I wasn't taught how to manage a classroom. My favorite part of this was getting to work with Miss Debbie again and the studio itself is a good environment. To work at an art school/studio someone needs to be creative. From my experience, the teacher definitely looks for someone trustworthy.

My internship experience was very refreshing as I got to interact with so many new people and I loved helping out the students and answering their questions (whether it be able civics or life at the high school). Some of my responsibilities included making copies, mailing letters, taking inventory, and answering students' questions! CHS most notably prepared me for this internship in the social aspect. The ability to meet with teachers in the high school for extra help taught me to interact with other people, especially those that are older and have more life experience. I loved getting to know the students, especially seeing how excited and curious they were about the high school journey that they are about to embark on. A future candidate for this internship should definitely be well-organized and social! I had a really great time overall and learned a lot!

My name is Jane Middleton and I interned at Mondo Marketplace. My internship experience was insightful as I was responsible for opening/closing the store, representing merchandise, and facilitating transactions with customers. The store owner was away for part of my time here, so I was running the store when she wasn’t here. Chatham prepared me for my internship by teaching me skills that could be applied to retail and practicing social skills that are needed when working with customers. I loved helping customers and interacting with new people. It was fun getting to know people that I wouldn’t normally interact with and facilitating transactions for the store when I made a sale. A good candidate would have to be personable, outgoing, polite, and organized. It would be good for an employee to be curious to learn more and for this person to be eager to help people in the store.

My name is Teddie Grogan. I interned at: Washington Avenue Elementary School. My internship experience was amazing. I met so many nice kids and learned so much about being in a professional workplace. I assisted Mrs. Kressler with whatever she needed. I would do busy work like filing, making copies, and building materials needed for class, but I would also help the students with their reading, writing, and math. This includes correcting them on their grammar, punctuation, spelling, addition, and subtraction. I felt prepared because I have so much familiarity with being in school. I know the social expectations and pressure which helped me relate to a lot of the kids. I also felt confident in what I would say to teach the kids with everything I have learned and studied throughout high school. I loved interacting with the kids. Whether it was pushing them on the swings, reading them books, or helping them with their work I loved getting to know each one. They are truly so sweet and memorable. I also liked how it brought back so many memories from my childhood that I forgot about. It really put me graduating into a bittersweet perspective. It showed me what a long way I have come but also reminded me of all of my good memories through school in Chatham. A good candidate has to be extremely patient because little kids are exhausting. You can’t lose your temper or lash out, and if you have trouble being patient you will struggle. Also, being confident in your public speaking skills when teaching is important. Some interests could include teaching, interacting with kids, and organizing.

My name is AJ Sita and I interned at Chatham High School with Mr. Clark in L15 (Video/TV Production Teacher). My internship was very hands-on and collaborative. I’m very grateful for the people I was able to work with and the creative environment I was surrounded by.
The bulk of my responsibilities surrounded editing videos for various different District and school events. On June 1st, The Pulse aired their final crossover episode of Season 12, and I co-shot, produced, and edited the different segments for that episode. I also attended the District Art Show and the TedxChatham events to create promo videos and film both district events. Generally, I helped the students in Mr. Clark's classes with anything video/editing related as well. CHS helped me prepare for this internship by giving me the opportunity to take the different Digital Media and Video Production courses throughout the past 3 years. These courses were a baseline for my passion in film and allowed me to explore different styles outside of the traditional creative box. One of the most memorable parts of my internship was hosting the CHS Pulse again for the last time. I took TV Production last year in Season 11, and the Students + Mr. Clark let me host again for the final episode. It was really fun being in front of the camera again and being in a LIVE set environment. I definitely loved how the final product of the finale turned out. A good candidate for this internship is someone who is patient, organized, and collaborative. These were key elements in my internship that I learned were essential to the efficiency of creative projects. When working with other students, you need to be flexible and accommodating while also being aware of your own skill and value. Being able to interact with various types of people is an amazing quality to have. And of course, I would advise that a candidate for this internship should be well rounded in Video Production elements related to camera work and editing in Adobe Premiere Pro. Overall, I really enjoyed my internship working with Mr. Clark and Aden Tran in L15 for the past few weeks!

My name is Georgia Tully and I interned at Southern Boulevard School. My internship experience was very fun and exciting. My main responsibilities during this internship were helping the students with questions about any activity they were doing, passing out papers, helping organize the classroom for the end of the year, and setting up activities. I think CHS prepared me for my internship by helping me always be prepared and on time while also communicating with others Building connections with teachers and other classmates, helped prepare me for building relationships with the different students and teachers at SBS. What I loved the most was building relationships with each of the students and teachers in the classroom. While I had already known Mrs. Izsa there were many teachers in the room I did not know. With the students, it was very rewarding seeing the kids become more comfortable and ask more questions or even just communicate more with me. All of the teachers were always so kind in the room and always trying to get to know me more. Walking in every day to the teachers and students was definitely the thing I loved the most. I think a good candidate for this internship would be someone who likes or is interested in working with kids. This internship definitely requires levels of patience, kindness, and communication skills while working with the students. I am definitely happy that I did this internship as I got to work with my 1st and 3rd-grade teacher and a great way to end the year.

During my internship, I had a role of watching and managing students with also setting up equipment and activities for the day. I think CHS prepared me well for my internship because I was taught how to be responsible and also manage my time when having to set up equipment and activities in a short amount of time. What I loved about my internship was how I could see the different side of what it is like to be a teacher and watching the students and not be a student anymore. Someone who enjoys activity and enjoys hanging out with students and building relationships with kids would be a great candidate for this internship.

My name is Lauren Davis and I interned at Professional Physical Therapy. My experience there was great. I shadowed the two head physical therapists and watched them talk to patients, create specific recovery plans, and demonstrate exercises. I also put together hot and cold packs, wiped down the tables, and did laundry. CHS prepared me for my internship by teaching me how to listen well, and professionalism. I found that physical therapy does not attract any specific group of people because anyone can get injured. I loved talking to all of the patients, and everyone brought a different personality into the space. Having good communication skills are very important to have because anywhere from 10-20 people come and go in the mornings, so you have to be able to talk to all ages and personalities. It is important to make the clients feel welcome and it is fun to hear what everyone is up to

My name is Kayla Murray and I interned at Summit Place Financial Advisors. My internship experience was very interesting and educational as it helped me understand a lot of concepts that could be a part of my future career. My responsibilities during my internship were having conversations with the people that worked there and doing equity research. I had to write and research report on Costco which I worked on for about two weeks and then presented it to everyone in the office on my last day. I loved that I was able to see how business worked in the real world instead of just learning about it in a classroom setting. My most memorable experience was being able to have conversations with people and have them answer my questions because that helped me learn more about the industry. A good candidate for this internship in the future would be someone who knows a lot about finance and knows they want to pursue a career in it. Having a good background in finance education will be very helpful in this internship as you will have a lot of conversations and will need to work on a project related to it. Good communication skills are important. I think this internship was very helpful and has made me more confident going into whatever business job I may have in the future.

My name is Megan Andreasen! I interned at Chatham High School in the Music Department for Mr. Bryson. My internship experiences was so much fun and so rewarding. My main job was to complete the choir library by logging music, organizing the shelves, and going through other materials in the classroom. I also had smaller jobs like making copies, helping out around the classroom, and occasionally assisting with preparation for the LAF choir concerts. As a student at CHS it was nice to have a certain level of organizational skills before starting my internship and a lot of my classes helped with that. I also took choir and already knew everyone in the music department which made starting my internship a lot easier. My favorite thing about my internship was the fact that I got to sort of give back to the choir department, which has given me so much over the years. I’ve loved being in choir here and it just felt great to spend my last few weeks of high school helping to make it a better place. For future candidates, I think it’s really important to be very organized, focused, and detail-oriented. You’re mostly doing administrative-type work so you should be able to work quietly and efficiently, especially because what you do impacts the learning environment for choir students.

During my internship my role in the classroom consisted mainly of doing worksheets one on one with the children and working with other teachers to maintain order in the classroom. CHS prepared me by giving me the skills to form valuable and lasting relationships with the teachers at gingham. What I loved most about my internship was the teachers that were in the classroom I got to work in. I loved all the kids I got to work with but I adore all the amazing teachers I got to spend these four weeks with and I made lasting relationships with all of them.
