As there are different accounts for the word “Revolutionary” in different time periods, it can affect people differently as people of color are often on the receiving end of a change in society. Regardless of the time period or specific societal change, white wealthy men remain in power constantly, beginning with the crafting of the constitution all the way to the presidential candidates there is very little room for equality. Women and people of color are often not valued under the surface and while they have been given constitutional or natural rights, they are still not valued by the government.

8: Terms such as “atrocity” and “hero” should be used when writing about history. Whether or not we are looking at things in the lens of the present or from the lens of the past, there are certain things that are objectively great or terrible things. One cannot look back on the Holocaust and try to avoid a value judgement. The Holocaust was an atrocity and that cannot be changed or warped by an opinion. The same can be said about the term “hero.” Even if we are looking at something through the somewhat biased lens of the present, people deserve to be remembered for heroic actions, such as the passengers of United Airlines Flight 93, who heroically stormed the cockpit of their hijacked Boeing 757 on 9/11, and prevented it from crashing into the U.S. Capitol building. The men and women on that flight were heroes, and there is no other way to look at it. There is nothing wrong with making a value judgment while evaluating history, you just have to be sure you are judging something appropriately.

the idea of being a "knower" is very applicable to the writing and authors of the constitution. Although most if not all of the authors of the constitution were heavily biased/racist, but that doesn't take away from the fact that they are a knower. past historical figures knew things that made them historical figures.

#1 Is truth the goal of all historical inquiry?

The pursuit of truth is not the only objective of inquiry, it isn’t the only thing of epistemic worth. History gives us a perspective on the past. The application of historical inquiry teaches students how to research, categorize, and explain historical events. Like the ⅗ compromise, we learned from it and thats why its not here today because it was wrong. Everyone should be given equality no matter their race. No one should be seen more than others. Not only that but taxation without representation, now it's no taxation without representation. We learned from the past its not just about the truth its about learning from mistakes people made in the past.

It connects to TOK because there are different perspectives of history & it is also retold as years go by by different people with different & more recent POVs. These different historians all use the way of knowing , whether it's language that can be used for events like secondary sources in which the historians that told the story weren't present or memory & sense perception that can be used for primary sources , or even reason that can be used to help historians analyze the things they write about & the events they've encountered. Each historians uses some way of knowledge & history is very heavy on the ideas of equal , fair & justified which is also learned in TOK.

Revolutionary change in human societies affect people differently based on where they're at on the social hierarchy of that time period. For example a revolution to change the country's passed on belief that "all men are created equal" would be beneficial for minorities like POC or white women because they know that they aren't included in that ideal, whereas for a rich white man that has liberty would be against this revolution because he's getting all the power & is not going to want to give that up.

U.S founding was based on an ideal to a minimal extent , whereas it was based on a lie to a great extent. The founding implemented ideas from the Enlightenment era which included natural rights & the building blocks to a constitutional democracy. BUT those ideals were reformed & changed for the constitution for the likes of those in power hence why it is built on a lie , a lie that contradicts itself at that. Thomas Jefferson believed that all men are created equal as said by John Locke. But those men excluding the ones he had enslaved as he wrote this ideal in the constitution , excluding the white women who at this time didn't have rights. Adding on , Jefferson used a half-truth on this quote. Locke explains that every HUMAN has inalienable rights that they are born with , rights that no once can claim to have created. These are major incentives that Jefferson failed to mention & changing human to men & happiness to property from Locke's ideas indicate that Jefferson purposely only wanted few people to have these natural rights.
