Comparative Adjectives in English I: 'More' and 'El más'

It is very common to compare things using adjectives, for example: 'That car is small but the other is smaller'. These are called comparative adjectives.

It is also worth learning the superlative form of adjectives in relation to their comparative form as they are related. For example in the adjective 'small', 'smaller' is the comparative form and 'the smallest' is the superlative form.

RULES FOR FORMING THE COMPARATIVE AND SUPERLATIVE IN ENGLISH

1. In English, most adjectives are added an 'er' at the end to form the comparative and 'est' to form the superlative.

My apartment is small - My apartment is small
My brother's apartment is smaller - My brother's apartment is smaller
Amanda's apartment is the smallest - Amanda's apartment is the smallest
