Superkids allows for students to have their own accounts. On their accounts, they can access the readers, leveled stories, games, songs, etc. My students love using the site. They are very engaged when we use it in the classroom, which would be every single day. Therefore, I thought this would be a good way to engage them at home, and give them some familiarity as well. For example, you can assign more complicated questions to advanced students. Or you can base your assignments on student interest. For example, send out a PDF passage or video about sharks to some kids and another about horses. Either way they can identify and the main idea and practice skill. No students are able to tell that they received a different assignment.

Time is not the easiest subject to teach, therefore, I knew I needed to do something special to engage my students. I created a Time Game show. I dressed as a game show host, adding a mustache (the kids laughed, and were extremely engaged). I have a big clock where I can move the hands. I asked the kids in an organized order what the times were on the clock. They were focused and excited, and it was truly wonderful to see them so interested. I also find a lot of math songs to assist in teaching. My kids end up singing the songs long after we complete a topic.
