Omar Thomas is an incredibly talented individual, as he not only is an amazing composer and arranger of music, but also serves as an educator at the University of Texas at Austin. I first came across Thomas during the COVID-19 pandemic and quickly fell in love with his style and approach to composition. He proudly represents both Black and LGBTQ communities, and is incredibly active in using his platform to secure representation for both groups.
