         <description><![CDATA[<div>According to <em>Integrated Advertising, Promotion, and Marketing Communications</em>, sponsorship marketing transpires when a company pays money to support a group, something or someone that is part of an activity (Baack &amp; Clow, p. 380). A sponsorship's purpose is designed to increase a company's visibility, showcase specific good and services, differentiate firms from competitors and enhance a company's brand image. I believe the sponsors highlighted in Mary Immaculate's pamphlets are effective because these pamphlets are handed out every week after mass. There is a possibility those who don't go to mass often will accept a pamphlet and view through it. Furthermore, the many church's sponsors can be seen from the back of the pamphlet for those who do not like to read or just end up throwing the booklet away. I think the sponsorships on Mary Immaculate's hand-out are somewhat effective. Having an ad related to a church elevates a brand's look because of the connection to "good" and "pure", therefore, benefiting the brand; however, since there are so many sponsorships throughout the pamphlet, it is hard for a company to stand out from its competitors. I think a company could better captivate a broader target audience if they not have so many information/ words on an ad, especially if the ad is tiny and surrounded by many other ads. To develop closer relationships with current and/ or prospective customers, a sponsorship with an enchanting design or a larger slot would be essential. </div>]]></description>
