After the Problem Statement, start your Literature Review. Begin with an introductory paragraph to preview main points of the literature review. Sometimes, it is easier to write the body of the literature review, then backtrack and write an introduction when you know already what you are covering.
Then, review your papers based on your annotated bibliography, articulate a gap (i.e., poorly understood area of your topic), and conclude with a connection to your own research idea.
