I remember him telling us this one story which he concluded by saying something like “you don’t always know what’s going on in people’s lives, so if it doesn’t take much effort for you to say hi to someone in passing, why wouldn’t you do it? You never know what difference it could make to them.” That thought has stayed with me at all times every day since high school, and it still guides the way I think of and interact with others. But even if I didn't know him that well, his death has impacted me and everyone I see on a daily basis. On friday, I saw people who had never spoken to each other comforting one another. If you were there, everyone, not just the people who had him as a teacher, were together that day. To have impacted everyone in an entire school on such a deep level tells me that he was a great person. People who graduated Broad Run years ago have visited this padlet to share stories. Coach Costello's death has effected Multiple generations. In my eyes, he lived a great life and his legacy will continue through the students and teachers of Broad Run.
