In this poem I wanted to create a dramatic/serious tone. I think this is important because the Holocaust was such a serious topic. The Holocaust was an event that people need to learn about. How these innocent jew suffered in camps with horrible conditions. In the first stanza of my poem I talk about how the Jews life before the Holocaust. It was happy, beautiful and they loved their town. But, in the next stanza, is when they started hearing the rumors about what the Nazi’s were doing to Jews in other towns and they started to be afraid. They didn't know what was going to happen next. They heard the rumors of millions of Jews being killed in concentration camps. Then the Nazi’s came to force the Jew’s out of their homes. People were being betrayed by their friends, they friends became Nazi’s. In the next stanza, it talks about how families were bring split up. Parents/Older people in the families were being taken to the gas. The gas that killed millions of Jews. Children didn’t know that the last time they saw their parents would be the last time. In the last stanza, I describe how life was inthe camps. In these camps, many people remember the cold, empty lonely feeling. When they did know know where their families were or what happened to them. People were not being properly fed or bathed. They were not staying in the appropriate shelter. They were suffering because of what they believed in. Everytime they were taken somewhere they didn’t know what was going to happen next. Were they going to be taken to the gas, to harsh work conditions, no one knew. So many people died during the Holocaust and it is a tragic event that will never be forgotten
