A complex conversation that has happened in the story is how Filthy Mcnasty got his nickname. His dad listens to jazz music and his favorite artist had a song called “filthy mcnasty”. This song was his dads favorite song. It’s just an odd nickname and an odd name in general. I don’t think I would ever name my kid this. JB and Filthy were warming up for their basketball game and JB went up to dunk. He missed and Filthy went up for the same dunk after JB missed. Filthy made the dunk and asked JB what was up with him and asked why he couldn’t jump. I think the author included this to show Filthy’s confidence in himself to do things others can’t. This is shown through the thoughts of Pun pun(the protagonist) right after deciding to break a promise to Aiko,"...Pun pun thought, that even if the world were to explode right now, it'd be fine". The Spy (Harrison) is trying to tell the generals about the other army's location but the generals are in disbelief because they believe they would have had word of where the other army was.
