2 Surprises: group interviews! Different things on offer in different schools.

1 Remains: The practicality of changing a school environment - how to do this. (Buy in...have ideas but trying to get this into practice)

1. That I am doing things right!

2. The importance of Reflections.

3. What a CAS Project expectation is.

Surprised me:

1. That Louise from my CAS Hub is here! :)

2. Not all actions for Service are 'High Service' enough.

One question:

1. What will I design my RA guidance to be for students when they are completing tasks away from School...?

She intends to connect TOK and BM more closely to CAS and provide more resources to the students for successful CAS project planning.

CAS Workshop Promotes International-Mindedness and Creativity!

Three things that were clarified:

1. Creativity around reflections.

2. How to 'adapt' experiences to different strands.

3. Lots of great ideas for experiences!

Two points that surprised me:

1. That service seems to be a trickier strand than creativity - we are very lucky at my school!

2. Seeing Sarah from the CAS hub!

One question:

1. How to support students with CAS who are on long term absence?

2) Surprised me: Reflections could take a number of forms like a song, a poem, videos, etc. CAS could be celebrated in the school in different ways.

3) Remains: How can we guide students to transform an idea a suitable CAS experience /project?

2 things that surprised me:

• that I actually do things as I should

• that we can do group interviews

1 question:

How to guide students to write the best reflections when they are struggling with English and/or French? There is only so much a good translation can do...

Two points that surprised me were 1) how broad the creativity strand can become, 2) How different each school and student experiences are depending on context, staffing etc. It's a much broader picture than I initially imagined with massive scope for students to excel. 

One question that remains is how to motivate students who struggle with elements of CAS particularly in areas they are weak in?

The importance of explicitly teaching the skill of reflection

The need to network outside the school

The power of peer teaching

How many people are working in a school where CAS is not given any support

That people use CSP for CAS

1 question:

With those experiences that are worthwhile and

are conducive to LOs but do not easily fit in with a strand, do people modify the experience or go with the lose connection to the strand?.
