These natural benefits are all located in or near Downtown Golden, where property values and cost of living are relatively high. In contrast, lower-income Golden residents tend to live farther from the downtown area, and thus farther from the natural recreation spaces. The numerous buildings and pipelines, as well as the expansive Coors factory, contribute to the pollution of the city. However, the construction in Golden is such that it does not entirely destroy the surrounding natural beauty.
