hi

More validators seem to needed to provide a check on the data and its quality. can there be some way of 'reaching out' to experienced mappers to do validating ??? Some form of online training would help.

Setting up formal testing of mappers may be a way to help, but this goes against the principle that anyone can sign up and start mapping.

what is the role of training and standardization in data quality enhancement?
In general, the training programs are significantly weak. This negatively affects the quality of data in all its stages, from entry to review, validation, update, and maintenance.
We should consider a training program for the capacity building of map validators and broaden their horizons about Geospatial and mapping.
I think it is feasible at this stage to form a partnership with the Open Geospatial Consortium OGC to develop needed standards for quality issues.
OSM Libya
