The Sanskaar Valley School Bhopal students had an amazing experience of connecting with friends around the country on 28th and 29th November 2017 during Global Skype-a-Thon days. We travelled to 8 schools in India. Took pledge with our friends to save mother earth. We also had collaborative sessions with DAV Shrestha Vihar, Ramjas Pusa Road, DAV Panipat, Maharaja Agrasen Model School and Uttam School for girls to understand best practices to avoid Plagiarism.

Students of VIS travelled 1512 miles to Columbo, Sri Lanka on 28 November 2017. The session on Cyber security was conducted by Ms. Surani Maithripala. She discussed about the content which should be posted online, the dangers of sharing passwords and what steps to take if one is being cyber bullied.

We also participated in “Shout out to a Green World” on November 29, 2017. There was a small talk on saving our environment after which we sang the Earth Song and shouted out the slogan “Keep Our forests green, keep our oceans blue, our planet needs you, Mother Earth needs you."

Our students at DAV Public School, Sreshtha Vihar had amazing 2 days of travelling virtual miles through Skype Sessions with Ms. Maria from Argentina,(Project: Link to the World), class of Ms. Dondi from Hungary (Project: Song and 12 questions), classes of Ms. Farah from Pakistan and Ms. Sukhmawati from Zakarta,
They got chance to have Skype interaction with Mr. Aaush Aggarwal, Computer Scientist from Microsoft, USA .
There were other enriching Skype Interactions where students got sensitized on Managing Garbage with Ms. Jyoti Chaba along with classes of Ms. Ruchi, Ms. Anamika and a class from Russia, learnt to be Safe Online from Ms. Surani from Sri Lanka and Said No to Plagiarism with Ms. Sonia Wadhwa from Bhopal. They took pledge to Save Mother Earth with Respected Madam Ms. Nisha Peshin - Director-Public Schools & Academics-DAVCMC , Ms. Vinnie Jauhari- Director Education Advocacy in Microsoft , Ms Swati, Kaushal , Ms. Vineeta Garg, Ms. Neeru Mittal and around 88 other classrooms
Skype trips came to an end with Mystery Skype played with class of Ms. Teona from Oni, Georgia.
Madam Principal Mrs. Premlata Garg also joined students in globe trotting.

With a hope it’ll spark interest in students to keep learning, Udgam school launched the global event - Hour of Code 2017 during Skype a thon 2017 this year with a plan to engage the entire school. As a part of Kick Off assembly, a special theme event on 21^st Century needs i.e. Sustainable Development Goals & Technology was held in the Auditorium connecting Class X students to Ms. Meenakshi Uberoi –British Council Guest Speaker, Microsoft Innovative Educator Fellow , Skype Master Teacher and founder of De Pedagogics from Gurgaon.

The event became more interesting by a SDG Tech Talk Show conducted by Students of Class X –discussing about which one is to be prioritized – SDG (Sustainable Development Goals) or Technology!

The conclusion that technology itself is the best tool to achieve Sustainable Development goals was proved effectively by showcasing their Computer Project HTML website based on research, actual action plan & implementation to achieve SDG- LIFE ON LAND. They visited KANKARIA ZOO and stepped ahead to make a small difference in animal life.

Skype Guest speaker, Ms. Meenakshi at the end of the assembly, appreciated our students’ team work, collaboration and SDG project.

Our students at Delhi Public School Ghaziabad Inetrnational had amazing 2 days of travelling virtual miles through Skype Sessions with Ms.Gudrun Edlofer from Austria (Project: Math Magic), class of Ms. Shyni Sudheer from Dubai (Project: National UAE day), classes of Mr. Roshan from Sri Lanka and Ms. Maria Napolskich from Russia.They got chance to be a part of "Shout out to the world" with 88 schools and learn Kodu from Kusum maam. Students of Anisha Global School virtually travelled to the Microsoft Office in the US to connect with Anthony Salcito, Vice President of Worldwide Education in Microsoft and the company's team members. Students and teachers planned their virtual travel from I-farm - the demonstrative farm at AGS - to the Microsoft Office.
Children had fun showcasing their hydroponics, fogponics, rotating hydroponics models and the horticulture and floriculture. They also showacased the e-cycle and One Note tablet made in school and Miko the artificially intelligent robot that engages in learning enhancement with children. Student had also built a futuristic Agri-city using Minecraft that was Minecraft that was highly appreciated.
Students and educators could experience for 20 minutes, the power of connectivity, knowledge-sharing and the opportunities Skype-a-thon creates for learning.
