Activity 1: What did the presenter in the video clip do that makes his business pitch effective?

He starts of in a very informal way, mocking the aesthetics of current electric cars, then proceeds to pitch a combination of vintage sports cars with the electric cars' mechanism. He captures the attention of everyone in the room by saying that electric cars were "gay" (hook), then proceeds to explain with visual images and painting a picture of how electric cars would look if they were human. this personification effect is effective as it is something no one thought of, something absolutely absurd and random.

Activity 2: In the pallet, write down one think you can apply to your future presentations

Grab your audience's attention from the start. Start with something unique, something that will make them notice your presence.

Activity 3: In your pallet, write down two learning points from the video.

Create a problem relating to what you want to sell, and use your product or service to solve this issue. Then add value to this problem that they might potentially have. Important to add stories for your audience to find something/someone to relate to.

Activity 4: Is this relevant to arts managers? How?

It is relevant to arts managers, especially when sourcing for sponsorships or fundings. As arts managers, it is important to be able to sell our projects, so that we can secure our budget ensuring good quality projects, and the projects we want to realise are for a good cause; for more people to enjoy the arts.
