         <description><![CDATA[<div><strong><em>Where and when did Leviathan Melvillei live?</em></strong><br>The Leviathan Melvillei lived about 12 million years ago and  It lived during the Tortonian stage of the Miocene epoch, about 9-8 million years ago (Mya), though evidence from Australia implies that either it or a close relative survived into the Zanclean stage of the Pliocene, around 5 Mya.<br>.</div>]]></description>

They have the largest teeth of any animal now or then.  The teeth measured 14 inches long.<br>3.  The bite force of the Leviathan was approximately 10.8 to 18.2 tons of pressure.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>1. Fossils can tell us how the animal or plant looked before it was a fossil.  Fossils are     usually found in sedimentary rock.  Trapped in tar, ice or amber possibly.  Freezing, carbonization, petrifaction, mineral replacement, unaltered preservation, are the ways fossils are formed<br>2. Fossils tell scientists what kind of environments in which they lived.  The information is gleaned from the characteristics of the fossils, the nature of their preservation, the nature of the matrix in which they are found, the geological context of the surrounding area, and the types of other fossils found in the same assemblage.<br>3. Fossils can tell us about when the animal or plant lived.  Studies of the minerals and surrounding rocks help to date the fossil.</div>]]></description>
