The real center of Buddhism is contained in the seventh component of the Buddha’s Noble Eightfold Path, Right Mindfulness. Mindfulness is the basis for all of the other components on the path. Unless one is mindful, there cannot be a right view, intention, speech, action, livelihood, effort, or concentration. The Buddha used meditation as a practice to develop mindfulness, thereby allowing progress on the path and eventually attaining enlightenment. In the textbook ,Exploring the Religions of Our World, it describes right mindfulness in stating “A person is to be aware of everything he or she is thinking and doing. Right mindfulness is being aware of thoughts, feelings, and actions at all times. Right mindfulness means knowing oneself”. Mindfulness is all about presence of mind or paying attention. But, it’s a particular kind of attention. We are forever paying attention to something. Mindfulness involves paying attention to what is occurring in the present moment.
- A real life example of right mindfulness is being present in the moment. A lot of times people will look back at bad memories and let that effect them in the present. We as humans tend to dwell on the past which only hurts us going forward. But with right mindfulness you can sit down and meditate those bad thoughts away. Just sit and focus on the good and the bad always disappears.

Based on acceptance. When you are accepting the things in life that do truly exist like suffering. Like the textbook, Exploring the Religions of Our World states, “is the understanding of the causes of suffering and the way one endures suffering.” Right understanding can also be understanding that the four Noble truths are noble and true. In the end it is fully understanding and knowing that life is not perfect and people do suffer. No matter how much suffering you go through you accept that things will happen. Everything happens for a reason and you just accept things that occur.
- An example of how I practice this Eightfold is accepting and knowing that everyone around the world is suffering with COVID 19. I practice this by wearing a mask places knowing and understanding that COVID 19 is spreading.

Right Concentration is the eighth part of the path. It requires practitioners to focus all of their mental faculties onto one physical or mental object and practice the Four Absorptions, also called the Four Dhyanas (Sanskrit) or Four Jhanas (Pali). In the textbook, Exploring the Religions of Our World, it describes right concentration in stating “ this final path is a form of meditation in which a person concentrates on one object, like a flickering candle, in order to get full attention to the object and dispel other distractions. This is the type of concentration that enables a person to see things as they really are and thus gain enlightenment”. The Four Dhyanas, Jhanas, or Absorptions are the means to experience directly the wisdom of the Buddha's teachings. In particular, through Right Concentration, we can be freed from the delusion of a separate self.
- A real life example of right concentration would be when someone’s taking a test and they are starting to get easily distracted by things such as people walking by outside of the classroom or people talking. If the person doesn’t learn to focus on the test they will fail because they are spending more time paying attention to their surroundings then to the task at hand. But with right mindfulness a person is able to see things as they really are and to get rid of these distractions in order to accomplish the task ie the test.

Right Effort "He or she is to be diligent in getting rid of bad
or delusional thoughts, while cultivating good, wholesome thoughts." (page 257)
This right means to exert themselves to create wholesome qualities and get rid of any negative traits. Buddhists try to develop wholesome qualities that
have not yet appeared. It's them putting in the effort to live and mentally be satisfied with themselves with their wholesome qualities. This path has to do with ones thoughts. As a high shool student I need to think clearly. To have good and healthy thoughts. They take me far in a happy path. We need to think about the qualities given or earned within us to be a better student and more importantly, a better person.

At the point when one goes without these types of off-base and unsafe discourse one normally needs to talk reality, needs to utilize words that are agreeable and generous, wonderful and delicate, significant, and helpful. One ought not talk recklessly: discourse ought to be at the perfect set-up.
