In our classes there are a lot of students who come from different villages, like Narcao, Teulada, Santadi, Tratalias; Sant'Anna Arresi and Portoscuso are on the coast , Sant' Antioco is in the omonimous island, which is connected by an hysthm to the mainland .They have wonderful sandy beaches, where we spend our summer holidays.

Murcia's Gastronomy
Murcia has a rich and varied gastronomy.
One of the most important dishes are:
Michirones: a hot stew made with dried beans,spices and lamb.
Ensalada murciana: Cieza olives, onion, tuna and hard boiled egg.
Marinera: russian salad with a donut with an anchovy placed on top
Pastel de carne: made with puff pastry. Inside it has meat, boiled egg and saussage.
Paparajotes:
It is a dough made with:

Milk, flour, eggs, yeast, sugar, ground cinnamon and oil

with a lemon leaf inside.

(the leaf is not eaten, it is to give flavor)

Bolos Huertanos:
There are many different ways of practicing this game within the Huerta of Murcia. One of them is:
Its played on a field of rammed earth, called lane, of rectangular shape and with a length of 35 to 40 m. by 4 or 5 m wide.
The game elements are: bowlings and balls.
The bolos are elongated sticks of 6 to 8 cm. In each match , 6 or 9 bowls are available.

HISTORY

Origins to the Muslim period

Inhabited since the Neolithic Period, there are many archaeological sites showing Argaric and Iberian cultures in the area. Later, the Romans and Visigoths populated these settlements. Abderramán II, in the year 825, founded the original nucleus of the current historical part of the city of Murcia. Murcia remained under Muslim control until 1266. Many important vestiges remain from this period, such as the defensive wall, irrigation systems, and the layout of the streets of the old town.

BANDO DE LA HUERTA: It is always celebrated on the first Tuesday after Easter, Easter Tuesday, and opens the cycle of the Spring Festival. It is a day of exaltation of the Huerta traditions, so closely linked to the history of the city itself.

Sardinia, from the past, has distinguished itself from the other regions for its traditions and its culture. In Sardinia, besides Italian, we speak Sardinian , the language which best preserves its Latin origins, but was also influenced by Spanish and has different varieties and dialects which vary according to the area . The main ones are: the Campidanese,spoken in the South ,mainly influenced by the Catalan, Nuorese and Logudorese,spoken in the centre and North Sardinia, mainly influenced by the Castillan and the Gallurese, spoken in the North West Sardinia.
Among the many traditions there are also the typical costumes, which, like the dialects, are different depending on the area of origin. Some of the materiale user are very precious and make the costumes particularly elaborate and colorful with embroidering and typical jewels. Nowadays the Sardinian costumes are worn only on the occasion of festivals, religious processions and celebrations, but in the past they represented daily clothing and could vary depending on the marital status of the person wearing them or the occasion in which they were worn ( daily dress , marriage dress , mourning dress).

The Nuraghe Sirai. A typical Sardinian Stone building, which was completed and integrated by the Phoenicians and Punic people who lived peacefully with the Nuraghic people. It is the only Nuraghe of this type in Sardinia.

The Acropolis of Monte Sirai.
Monte Sirai settlement lies a few km from Carbonia, set on a plateau visible from the town, in a strategic position, which made it simple to control access from the sea, with the surrounding islands on one side and the plains area as far as the mountains on the other.
The site was inhabited from Neolithic times to the Nuraghic era, and subsequently . sometime round 750 BC. it became a Phoenician settlement. The summit of the hill is the only Phoenician-Punic Acropolis in the Mediterranean Sea . It hosted houses and public buildings, the most important of which was the Temple of Astarte and the incineration Necropolis. Sometime round 520 BC, the city was completely destroyed by the Carthaginians and was subsequently re-colonised. The rebuilt settlement was protected by a set of curtain walls.
Monte Sirai is especially precious for a better understanding of Phoenician and Punic civilisation , complete in all its essential parts, as it was not built over in later periods. From the Acropolis , you can see a wide area of Sulcis and the coast with the islands of Sant'Antioco (with the omonimous town and Calasetta) and San Pietro (Carloforte). Sunsets and summer nights are particularly beautiful from there!There is also a new built stone amphitheatre for summer music and theatre shows.
Students from different schools sometimes work there in group of touristic guides in special days (Monumenti Aperti or the Heritage Days) or with archaeologists .

The Holy Cathedral Church of Santa María, 1 known as the Cathedral of Murcia, is the main temple and seat of the Diocese of Cartagena. It is located in the old town of the city of Murcia, in the Plaza del Cardenal Belluga.

93 meters high that make it the third highest bell tower in Spain - the second if only cathedrals are included.

It is the perfect starting point for any tourist route through the city. Artistically it is the most important construction and its tower is the symbol of Murcia. It is also the main temple of the Diocese of Cartagena.
It is built over five centuries (14th-18th centuries) and its different styles (Gothic, Renaissance and Baroque) are an impressive testimony of the history of Murcia. The building began in 1385 on the land that occupied the main Arab mosque in the city.
The bell tower measures 90 meters high -95 with the weather vane-, which makes it the second highest in Spain after the Giralda in Seville. It is the highest point of the entire city and is composed of five decreasing bodies in width. Each one of them shows an artistic variety different from the rest, which gives it a great attraction for the visitor.

Pan di Zucchero (The Sugar Loaf) islet inside is pierced by two large arches that create galleries , one of which can be crossed by small boats. It is in front of Porto Flavia cliff, where the tunnel of a suggestive twentieth century mine carved into the cliff opens up. It is visible both from Gonnesa, Plagemesu, and from Masua beach.
