However, that day I learned a lot about the relationship between teaching and playing in class because I was also participating in physical activities. It wasn’t a bad day.

As I was putting this new knowledge into practice, I was discovering that the body had different disciplines. I had been learning that taking care of your body was involving more than just sports; it was also incorporating lifestyle choices and daily habits. I had never considered the interconnectedness of these things before, but as I was attending my courses, I was seeing how all of these elements were contributing to overall well-being.

The teacher had left out a soccer ball and a basketball, some children were playing basketball and other students were playing soccer. When a student was playing soccer and he kicked it and hit another child in your head.

I remembered we were in charge of course and i went over to check the situation. The blow didn't cause any bumbs or blood and i had the child sit down for a moment to stabilize him. He wanted to go back to playing, but i made him wait a few minutes. He drank some water and returned to his game.

Lást semester, I was leading a trust exercise with my students in the School Centro Educativo Manuel Elkin Patarroyo. We were practicing the classic activity where one student falls back and another has to catch him. At first, everything was going well and most of the students were focused. Suddenly, I noticed that while I was giving instructions, he leaned backward too quickly. The student behind him was supposed to catch him, but he wasn’t paying full attention at that moment. As a result, the student fell to the ground and hit his back. I immediately ran to check on him and asked if he was okay. The rest of the class went silent when they saw what had happened. Finally, I reminded everyone that safety and attention are the most important parts of any trust exercise.

In this way, ball activities have been a meaningful experience that was helping older adults stay active, and that has also given them valuable memories and learnings they continue to enjoy in their daily lives.

At first, he thought it was just stress or a busy schedule. But then he realized something deeper: they were no longer friends. Maybe they had grown apart, or maybe the bond was never real. Whatever the reason, the connection they once had was gone.

Now, he trains like always—but when practice ends, he just goes home. The field feels emptier than before. He has learned that not all friendships last, even if they once felt strong. And while it hurts, it’s also part of growing up.

Last semester, I was at volleyball practice when I saw a boy playing with a soccer ball.

The teacher looked at the boy and asked him where he got the ball, and he told her he brought it from home because he didn't like playing volleyball.

The teacher told him if he didn't participate, he would get a failing grade.

I talked to the boy and convinced him to play the remaining minutes until the end of class.

At the end of class, the boy mentioned how he felt playing volleyball and why he was playing soccer.

Last year, we faced one of those moments. Daniel and I had a very important history exam. We were nervous because we had not studied enough the night before. When the teacher gave us the test, I felt my hands shaking. Daniel looked at me and whispered, “Good luck.” His words gave me courage and helped me stay calm.

During the exam, I tried to remember everything that I had read, but my mind was almost blank. Daniel, however, wrote quickly and seemed confident. After the class, we went to the cafeteria and laughed about our mistakes. Surprisingly, when the results came a week later, I passed with a good grade, and Daniel did even better. We were both proud because we had expected to fail.
