In my opinion, in order to define effective communication, mutual listening is fundamental and without this the conversation cannot be defined as such; this is because only by listening first to what the other person says can we understand and therefore build a speech with meaning and that can increase the members of the discussion.

When I speak instead I always try to have turns of speaking, a few times if not in cases of discussion or something else, I bypass the other person talking while she was still finishing; it is something that I find really disrespectful and I hate when it is done to me.
Instead, when I talk to people from different cultures I try to be as open as possible to the other communication styles of the other; thus grasping whether a person is more open or more closed and base as well as how to behave best during the conversation.
