My mom had bought me the first and second book in the Geek Girl series and I absolutely loved it. A quick summary of the story is that a girl is forced to go to a modeling event with her friend, who is dying to be a model! But, she gets discovered instead. The book tells her journey of getting through school, family and friend troubles, and photo shoots! I totally recommend this book to others and actually found that it connected with my life!

This is the second book in the Geek Girl series and this one, in my opinion, was even better! After the main character, Harriet, gets her summer ruined, with her step-mom's baby on the way, a new modeling trip to Japan doesn't seem ideal. But she soon figures out that it was just what she needed to get through family life, modeling mishaps, and relationships.

This book, which I had been seeing in various book orders, was a total relatable and unexpected story. A highschool senior gets the chance to call her freshman self and give advice. But, when she starts controlling her past life, her future life starts to change in ways that she can"t even explain. Colleges, houses, and even parents change with no way to fix them back, leaving gaps in her memories about the past. Will she continue the calls?

It was a little bit slow at first because the mentor was introduced near the middle of the book. However, when I finished the book, I actually appreciated the book being so spread out. I got to know a lot about the Kit, the main character, and felt very attached to her. I suggest this book to ages 12 and up because there are some parts of the story that are a little bit hard to understand, but it tells an amazing story.

Read the amazing story of two totally different middle-schoolers as they take on family, school, and even love! Megan Shull has done an amazing job on understanding the teenage brain and what we need to know. I recommend "The Swap" to teenagers and older, especially those who are trying to figure out what is going on in the world!

I have loved the Greek and Egyptian mythology books written by Rick Riordan, so I knew that his Norse Mythology books would be even better. This tells the story of Magnus Chase, the boy who lives out on the streets. But little does he know, his dad is a Norse God!

Heads Up Psychology by Marcus Weeks

I started reading this book as a challenge from the library at school, and it turned out to be an amazing read! It contained proof and explanations for why the human mind thinks the way that it does. It uses not only words, but images, graphs, and quotes to explain what most people have questions on, like "what are mental disorders?" or "why do I feel this way when I experience an emotion?" I was particularly interested in the last portion of the book that talked about where we store emotions and memories and how we draw from those. At times, they related the brain to a garden: different things are held in different parts and those parts grow and develop. I also enjoyed learning about child development and the differences between a "male" and a "female" mind and the psychology behind those. I found it intriguing that certain connections can be lost between a mother and a child if one little step does or does not happen. It also surprised me that there was no such thing as a "genders' brain," but that people of certain genders tend to use it in a multitude of ways. In conclusion, I recommend "Heads Up Psychology," by Marcus Weeks, if you are looking for psychological answers, want to know more about mental diseases or disorders, or if you are just looking for a challenge!

The thief doesn't know she is there, but once he does, there's no way that he can let her go. She would just go a tell the cops about him...right? Wrong. Cheyenne is blind. It gives in accurate description, the beginnings of his tall-tale life. This book explains the significance of nature in all of Davy Crockett's life, such as when he is a child, frontiersman, and statesman. For example, how when Davy Crockett was younger, he was excluded from most outdoor activities with his brothers and sisters. But this only made his longing for the outdoors grow. And how when he campaigned for Congress and Legislature, he preferred to work outside. This book tells the many feats, tales, achievements, and accomplishments of Crockett and his journeys.

I found the way that Harper Lee uses character development and a well written story line to suck the audience into the book. This book deserves a 10/10 rating and any person who is about 12 years or older should read it.

Josh wants to know why he has never been in an actual, mutual relationship before. Was it the way that he talked?! The way that he dressed??! The way that his breath smelled???!! In this book, you will find recollections of past "girlfriends," research on why they weren't actually his girlfriend, and the most embarrassingly funny moments from a single life.

This book tells the story of two girls who become united because of World War II. One is a decoder and the other is a pilot. The book is written from the point of one girl for the first half, and the other girl for the second half. I had never been that interested in historical fiction books before, but this book was so amazing! I would recommend this book to the reader who wants suspense, friendship, and creativity within a novel.

Being that this book is written by the same person who wrote "Holes," it tells the story of a teen who went to camp Green Lake, where the plot of "Holes" takes place. I really liked this book because it told the real consequences of having to go to that camp and then later coming back. The main character is always being picked on because of his past, his race, his friends, etc. If you are looking for a book that is so real, yet still so magical, I totally recommend this one!

This is a graphic novel that tells the story of a girl growing up in Turkey. We see her handle gender and societal oppression, violence, and psychological disturbances. I really enjoyed this book because most graphic novels you see have to be something funny or unrealistic. But this book, telling a true story, wasn't like that. I got to see what its really like to live in a society where it's a crime to be a woman. I feel that with all gender talk these days, this book gives a clear understanding of what needs to change. I would rate this book a 4.7/5 stars.

This book is the first in a series of four and was recommended to me by my Language Arts teacher. I wasn't really sure what to expect, but after learning that it was a fantasy/romance book, I was hooked! This tells the story of two teens, one being human and one being not-so-human, who have a sort of psychological connection. They can hear each other in their minds without actually saying anything out loud. The can even go through past snippets/memories of history. But is this connection a blessing or a curse? Will they be able to figure out what these memories mean before one goes dark? Find out by reading, "Beautiful Creatures," by Kami Garcia & Margaret Stohl.

This books tells the story of a young teen who's uncle magically comes to visit. He promises not to stay long, even help with the rent, but he just has some business to do. He convinces this teen, Garth, to help him out with secret business. But can Garth really handle it? Can he handle all the lying and cheating he's having to do with his mother? I really liked this book because it's one of those where one bad thing comes after another and you just want to cringe while reading. That makes me feel like I am totally getting into it.

Witches, witches, and even more witches! Roald Dahl tells the story of a young boy who hears stories of the witches. And then he meets them! I had heard of this book before, but never had read it. It may have been considered a little under my level, but it actually was a bit difficult. Lots of fancy, descriptive words were dotted along the pages, making them harder to understand. But, I still loved this book!
