One positive experience was learning more about school life in Singapore. This was good because I have never been in an MOE school system before and it was very enlightening to learn the difference and see how Singapore schools are different from schools in America.

What have I learned from the experience?

From this experience I learned that some cultures are very different from each other and one is not necessarily better than the other.

What strengths have I discovered about myself?

I am able to have an open mind even if some things were surprising about Singaporean schools.

What can I do better

I could try not to judge people because they are different from me.

What experience was challenging for me?

One challenging experience was the added pressure of assessments and tests and parents expectations.

I learned how to study more effectively but also balance my school life with my personal life.

I am able to cope with quite a bit of stress and still flourish.

Another difference is the respect people have for their teachers. In the US, when teachers walk in they say hello to the class, and barely anyone says it back, so unlike the respect shown in the Singapore greeting.
