Justification: Ephesus Dwarf Goby can mostly only be found on the lowermost Küçük Menderes wetlands in Turkey.(25 km²)

Range: Can be found in a delta marsh. It enters brackish water.

Population Trend: Decreasing.

Habitat and ecology: Found at delta marshes. Enters brackish water.

Major Threats: Water extraction, pollution and habitat destruction are major threats for this organism. Since it is only found in one location it is Critically Endangered.

Conservation Actions: There is no current conservation action at this moment. Field work and special conservation is recommended to understand threats and distribution and also protect the species

http://yabantutkusu.com/turkiye-tatlisu-baliklari/

http://www.iucnredlist.org/details/61238/0

Su & Can

Justification: The species was already Extinct by the 1980s (its exact date of extinction is unknown) due to the affects of introduced non-native fishes. Many surveys have taken place and the species has not been found.

Range: This species was known from Lake Gölçük, west of Isparta, Turkey.

No population trends.

Habitat and ecology: This was a lacustrine species inhabiting one mountain lake.

Major threats: The species vanished due to alien species invasion. Alien species were stocked to improve fisheries.

Conservation actions: No more conservation needed as the species is Extinct.
http://www.iucnredlist.org/details/1848/0

Selin

This is because the species is forced to migrate higher in the mountains.

Range: It is endemic to Adana and the Taurus Mountains

Population Trend: Decreasing

Habitat and ecology: Found in short grass meadow and montane dwarf shrub. The species is forced to migrate higher in the mountains since the habitat is being degraded.

Major Threats: The current main threats are habitat loss due to agricultural conversion as well as agricultural activities by local people.

Conservation Action: No conservation actions taken yet for this species.

http://www.iucnredlist.org/details/16757663/0

Su & Can

Justification for assessment: Globally
vulnerable because of its decreasing populations. Because of low levels of
recovery and high levels of mortality. Targeted by fishers.

Range: Can live in tropical to cold
temperate seas globally.

Population trend: Decreasing

Habitat and ecology: The Common Thresher
Shark is virtually circumglobal in temperate oceans, penetrates into tropical
waters and also has a noted tolerance for cold waters.

Major threats: Threatened from a
combination of slow life history characteristics, therefore low capacity to
recover from exploitation. Also a target for fishers for find and their meat.

Conservation actions: Time and area
restrictions in California. It is not conserved internationally.

Cinar&Melina
