         <description><![CDATA[<div>1. When the students can connect to their prior experiences and knowledge<br>2. Applicable to real life experiences (authentic learning)<br>3. Provide platforms for students to share their experiences<br>4. As teachers, we cannot assume that something  is relevant  to students automatically. We need to give them time to make connections and link the learning / knowledge to their own experiences<br><br>For instance, we can get the students to apply what they have learnt in situational writing to write letters of appreciation to the unsung heroes during the Covid pandemic.<br><br>Students can learn to show empathy to  those who were ill (during the Covid pandemic) when they pen down their experiences themselves when they were ill. </div>]]></description>
