- Emphasis should be laid on the doctor's ability to communicate with the patient. This helps to identify what explanations are most understood by the patients and vice versa.
- Conveying information using different methods other than verbally eg using multimedia and graphics.
- Patients should be given opportunities to ask questions not only at a consultation but also at a later date.
