         <description><![CDATA[<p><strong>Objective</strong>: Practice recognizing and comparing equivalent fractions.</p><p><br/></p><p><strong>How to Play</strong>: </p><ul><li><p>Each player receives one or more cards.</p></li><li><p>The player with the card that reads "<em>I have 1/2...</em>" begins by reading their card aloud, and the person who holds the matching fraction responds, by going 2nd and reading their card.</p></li><li><p>Game play continues, by each player reading their card(s) and other players responding when they hear a fraction called out that matches the fractions on their card(s), until all cards have been played.</p></li><li><p>Optional: Use manipulative, like fraction strips or paper or real pizzas to support comparisons.</p></li><li><p>Challenge Cards: Challenge cards are used to encourage players to apply their card (the fraction shown on the challenge card) to real-life, local or global contexts. For example, "<em>I have 1/2 a pizza, who has a fraction used in cooking?</em>" or "<em>I have 1/4 past the hour, making the time 6:15pm, who has another fraction that also tells time, and what time is it where you are?</em>" </p></li></ul>]]></description>
