Debate is basically an argument with rules and we have to explain why your claim is right with evidences. In most debates, two teams or individuals take opposing sides of an argument.

A debate is an argument with rules, for example, two teams are talking about which book is more helpful to us, they're sharing opposite opinion about what they're thinking about the topic. Also they have to support their reason why they think (first or second) book is more helpful. And the other important thing to remember when we're sharing our opinion, we have to speak clearly and loudly.

People will be divided into FOR and AGAINST, and they will persuade people that their team has best argument therefore they should win.

Debate is an argument with rules. There is two team usually which is group that agree with the topic and disagree with topic. Use reasoning to support the claim. And in reasoning it should be based on the evidence because it makes reasoning more stronger. Also in debate, after hearing both (agree ,disagree) two groups does rebuttal to convince the others.

Debate is an argument between people. There are many types of debates and if I try to say one example of it, it might be most popular ones. The first one is the argument between two teams. You can divide them in the order of topics. Example) if the topic is 'Should we eat the meat for survival?' Than two teams might divide into 'agreeing team' and 'disagreeing team'. They said the claim with good evidence, rebuttal the claims with their own evidence that they gathered. At here, you should say the cons of the claim. Second one is kind of not like this example. They sit around in a circle and make a claim they think. Usually, they use the first one more.
