When the U.S. wanted to seceretly research and develop an atomic weapon during World War 2, they knew they would need scientific knowledge.

Civilian corporations used research models to create goods to be used by the government and civilians. This obviously led to the develpment of nuclear medicine and using atomic energy for electrical power. Ultimately, the building of an atomic bond would help bring an end to World War 2, which would allow us to develop a vibrant economy.

The development of atomic power spurred a new, more dangerous arms race between the Soviet Union and the U.S. Is was important that U.S. figured out how to construct an atomic bomb before Germany did. When America finally made the world's first atomic bomb, on August 6th, 1945 USA dropped the first atomic bomb on Hiroshima, Japan. Three days later another bomb was dropped of Nagasaki, Japan. Japan surrendered.
