We all need supports in our life, some of us need extra support. For students in school it is a matter of when they will need support not if they will need support. 
2. “No one has been hurt by too many supports, but so many have been harmed with too few” Everyone benefits from lots of supports but many students will suffer without adequate supports. We need to put many supports in from the start to benefit all students and prevent students from going unsupported. 
3. We should change our perspective to see that using resources is not cheating. In the REAP program we use a daily shape of the day schedule. This schedule is an example of a visual support that is put in place for the whole class. This support helps all of us to feel less anxious about the day.
Key Idea 3: 
In the REAP program we have been allowed to demonstrate our learning using different methods. For example we have been able to choose between typing or voice to text for assignments. Using voice to text would not be cheating but it may make some students lives much easier. A child who haven't master a set of skill or knowledge yet is someone needs the right kind of support in their learning journey. It is a problem often overlooked and we assumed the student is not capable or underachieved. 
For example, some kids are slow learners and some kids are fast learners, we should accept and respect their pace so life is not a race. 
Example: My daughter had a hard time understanding what number goes first in a division. I assumed she didn't quite understand what division questions are really about, so I focused on explaining that concept. On the contrary, she viewed division as a pizza being cut into different slices, so she always put the "bigger" number in second place.
