I would like to continue to work on my language shift of praising the process and reacting to students who are struggling. The say this not that phrase charts are helpful to continue to build a list of ideas. This is also something I need to mindfully continue to be aware of. Furthermore, I am also continuing to work on my verbal reactions to mistakes. Making sure I am being mindful of my reaction verbally and non verbally.

Praising the process is important to help students/children/humans know that intelligence comes from effort and hard work, and that everyone can continue to learn and grow. I want to make sure that I am praising the effort and strategy and not intelligence. It is important for people to know that perfection is not part of intelligence and making mistakes is important and part of the learning process.

I can also create an anchor chart or hang key phrases in the back of my room where I look to help keep it front and center in my mind. Create a log of writing down one positive for the day that occurred around praising the process. This will help me reflect and be mondful.
