1. This artifact is a meme referring the satellite to Big Brother in a way. This artifact was used in an article from Science ABC. The article was created in 2015 by a person who goes by the name of Ashish. The creator of this meme is talking to the people who are suspicious of the purposes of these satellites.
2. Geostationary satellites are used to give information about the Earth. These satellites can give detailed information on the weather of a certain area or detect the change of climate in areas. A satellite such as this can become ideal to the governments. Geostationary satellites, as well as many other satellites, can be used to spy on other countries. This technology can be used to keep other countries marked and look out for any possible threats. This changes the behavior of countries. These countries will act more cautiously in order to prevent sparking any kind of conflict with one another.

1.The artifact is a video of prison inmates in a room alone with a camera. This video is from an organization called Voices From Within. The person who released this documentary is Dan Slepian and the documentary was created in 2015. Dan Slepian is trying to deliver a message to the viewers through prison inmates. These inmates had once made a mistake and can't undo their mistakes. This documentary warns us and tells us that we should be careful with the decisions we make in our life.
2. This documentary of the prison inmates in a room alone with a camera can really relate to Orwell's ideas. When these prison inmates are getting some time alone with a camera that won't judge them, they start to open up and speak about things they normally would not do.

1. This artifact is a picture of Justin Bieber. This photo was taken by paparazzi and was used in a news article about Justin Bieber. The photographer of this photo is showing how Justin Bieber couldn't take all the cameras in his face with the criticism he was receiving from the paparazzi. The author is talking to the fans and the paparazzi. I think the purpose of this photo is to show that Justin Bieber is a normal human being as well.
2. I think this artifact can be really Orwellian. Justin Bieber has also had a lot of paparazzi on him. These people would constantly follow him around as their job. It has become people's jobs to constantly surveillance these celebrities. These celebrities can only take so much when they are constantly being attacked like this. The celebrities in the beginning are already putting on a persona in front of the audience. When this persona breaks, a side to them may come out that even they did not know they had. These people can only endure so much. The people in this type of business bust be very careful of how they think and act.

1. The article above is a photo of a warning that someone put up. This photo is from Today's Therapist. This photo was used in a article about body image issues by Steve Lee. This was created in May 4, 2016. This photo was taken to deliver a message of encouragement to the people who are feeling insecure about themselves.
2. The artifact is a reminder to the people who are feeling insecure about themselves. Society is constantly judging others about their appearance. Social media is a big part of a person these days. A persons appearance and how they are viewed are extremely important to them. They are afraid of being judged and put on this perfect ideal image to avoid any negativity. The people in 1984 put on a mask to avoid getting caught by the authority. The people on social media are also doing this but to avoid society's judgment.

Mass surveillance to change in behavior.

The artifact is an article on the change in behavior when undergoing constant surveillance. This artifact is from Who What Why and was created by Boen Wang on December 1, 2015. The author of the article is speaking to those who are looking into changes of behavior. The author presents you with a lot of different information on the change in behavior they have seen.
2. The article goes over an experiment that has taken place called "The Helsinki Privacy Experiment". This was an experiment where people underwent constant surveillance for an entire year. As expected, there were changes in behavior. The increase in surveillance did not increase the stress of people but changed the way they acted or how they decided to complete tasks. Just like Winston in 1984, many of the subjects would proceed to do things in parts that have less surveillance than to do things in more heavily surveillance areas.

CONCLUSION

Knowing that you are being observed or even being suspicious of being observed by someone can change your behavior. You may not notice it but over time, you will begin to do things that you have not been doing and develop new habits. Another thing about being constant surveillance is the fear of being judged or not accepted. The norms of society can be very simple but may not fit you as a person. You are different from the rest of the society and are scared of the fact of not being accepted. This will lead to people being afraid to think and act for themselves. All this may be a way for the government, the authority to maintain order and control. People will not be able to think and act, therefore becoming like the people of the party in 1984.
