On the 25th of August, I came into college to enrol and got to know my new tutors as we spoke about my course and the college itself. Also, on the induction weeks, everyone in the course took park in activities. This helped everyone get to know eachother and create new friendships and bonds because of our communication skills when taking part in these activities. Team building also helped improve my communication skills because we all worked together as one to win the challenges we were taking part in.

Another example of when i have communicated, is during my work hours at my part time job. I communicate during my job when i serve customers and communicate with my colleagues as a team. Communication in a job is important so that we can all work as a team to build customers and to improve the company.

A final example of when i use communication is in a morning when i message my friend Maisie about getting the train to college. This communication helps us so that we can get the same train, arrive at college at the same time and so our plans are successful.

Firstly, in induction week, we got into groups and made balloon chairs. Each team tried to make the strongest balloon chair, so that it could be sat on without it popping. Teamwork was definetly used for this because we all needed to use our different ideas to make the best chair.

Secondly, as a group, we used teamwork when making the team quilt. For this task, we worked as a group to write our names on a piece of paper, along with 2 things about us. Then, we used string to attach these pieces together to make a quilt. There were a group of us doing this to make the process quicker and easier. So, teamwork helped us complete this task.

Finally, I used teamwork in college in a Cabin Crew lesson. We used teamwork when creating our pre-flight briefing for our assessment. Teamwork helped us as a group because we figured out what lines we were and weren't saying, taking it in turns. So, teamwork will benefit us during our assessments when working together

I have motivation to come to college 3 days a week. Some of these days are long as they are from 9am till 4:30pm. So, even though these are very long days sometimes, I still attend. I get myself up by using my alarm in a morning

I attend college so that I can progress in my future career, and use my college grade. So, if I don't attend college I will struggle to find a job in travel and tourism.

My monthly hours range from 30-60 hours per month depending on the weekly rota. I do more hours when we have functions on like parties, christenings etc. This is because we have a lot more customers so we need more staff on.

My job role is a general assistant. So, I have multiple jobs to do when on shift. This ranges from bartending, glass collecting, pot washing, waitressing. This depends on how busy it is on the day. So, if it is very busy, I will be mainly on the bar and glass collecting. We work well as team members because we make sure jobs get completed and don't leave them all to one person.

I also worked in a nursery as my secondary school work experience placement. This helped me build y childcare skills, and health and safety. You have to be extremely careful when working with young children and babies. Therefore, my health and safety skills have improved massively since my placement at the nursery.

My motivation to attend college is so that i can attend all lessons, complete all of my assignments etc. Therefore, I will leave college with a good grade able to get a successful job for my future career pathway. Therefore, I can get a well-paid job and go further in life in jobs.

At college, we did sustainability week. During this week, we studied about the environmental state of the world, and how we could improve things. So, we learned the bad impacts on the environment, such as littering, and we learnt the good impacts of the environment, like avoiding using plastic and using paper instead. This educated us on how we can benefit our future

Also, we made a pledge about sustainability, and gave reasons as to why we should be a lot more environmentally aware. So, this can educate others that don't realise how our future is going to struggle if we don't start changing our lifestyle that damages the climate and community.

During sustainability week we made posters on climate change and our carbon footprint was measured. My carbon footprint was extremely high, so I began to find things that would lower my carbon footprint, which contributes to global warming.

Before the assessment

Before this assessment, we had prepared our questions and the answers for them. So, we had practiced before and got them all correct so this made us feel quite confident before, but we still had a few nerves because of the pressure.

During the assessment

During the assessment, we had to get our pictures taken to prove we know hoe to use the crew seat, and that we are tall enough for the overhead cabins. This is to ensure we meet the cabin crew standards and measures. We then took a seat and began with our interview, we did well as we had practiced beforehand, so our notes that we wrote down and memorised came in handy. This gave us confidence and we completed the assessment successfully and worked well together.

After the assessment

Because we worked well together, this will help us in our future cabin crew careers as we will need to know and have the skills of working well with other crew members, as this speeds up the working process and helps shifts flow smoothly, this will also give us ideas and help to speak to and approach customers properly, as we spoke about how we would deal with situations on board a flight. Overall, Kenzie and I did very well in our assessment, which has reassured us for when the day comes of an actual and professional interview.
