These stems are arranged in such a way it does not intertwine with each other and is at different axis. This is to create space between the two and to create an illusion of distance. The distance also creates depth. 

The stems have round buds like flower buds. This part will be hollow to enable the user to store small items like chains, necklaces and brooches. 

Along the stems there are loops to hook the earrings in them. When the earrings are hooked and are hanging from the stem, I wanted it to create an illusion like the traditional floral motifs where there are small flowers and leaves floating around the main stem.

The flower part will be the light hanging downwards and shining down. The difference between the two versions are, one has a platform to place things and the other has a ladder like shape to hang things on top. 

All the items to be placed and hung are small items such as earrings, necklaces and brooches.

The similarities among all the three concepts: 
The cover is made of the combination of rattan (rough texture) and other smooth-texture materials for example leather or cloth to create contrast from the aspect of texture which was mentioned in the image board.
Light colour and dark colour is applied on the journal’s cover to make contrast from the aspect of colour. Besides that, the proportion of application of light colour is larger than the application of dark colour on the journal’s cover. (in order to create journal’s cover that suits for environments shown in image board.)
 
The differences among the concepts:
The concepts are different in the way to secure the journal’s cover.
Concept 1 is a journal cover that can be secured by using pen. Pen is inserted into 2 loops that attached beside the journal cover to secure the journal. 
Concept 2 is a journal’s cover that secured by using zipper. 
Concept 3 is a journal’s cover that secured by using buttons.

However, for this, I solely focused on the flowy-ness and movement of the vines and the feeling of flexibility. I wanted to make this one more abstract and dynamic in form. 

It consists of 3 parts which are the main curve, the light bulb and the side curve. 

For the main curve it will be fine rattan weaving to show how delicate and light it is. It is also to make the structure look less stiff. When the light from the bulb shines through it should be able to create a shadow from the rattan weaving. 

The side curve will be made of a thin layer of porcelain or ceramic (tgh in planning hehe). It should not be so thick as well and I wanted it to complement the rattan part. So this will look slightly more solid whereas the rattan part is finer. For this version, a base is added and the rattan stems are embedded in the based. 
The base is added which emphasizes the flowy and “growing out” movement of the vines. Base is made using resin.  The base would be transparent almost translucent.

So I tried to arrange and rearrange the positioning of the flowers as I wanted to do a tier rattan storage.

This is a tier storage piece, there is the most to flower which is the focal point. A light bulb is added to in the middle of that flower. This will enhance the focal point of the piece even more. 

The top layer will use a thicker and more dense rattan weaving. This will create the focal point. The middle layer is using fine and thin rattan weaving. The bottom layer is a porcelain part (white).
