In the book, it talked about the great depression. Some of the differences which I had noticed were that it in Wisconsin there was a lack of money, but in the book, it had described that they were lacking on the money. There economy is really low, and they need to be stable with the environment around them in order to be wealthy.

We sometimes don't have a exact plan were to go, and what things we should enjoy on the weekends. We change routes for example, if we are about to go to a mall, we end up doing grocery's because we don't have enough time. So we just move that event a day further.

When Terpsichore met the boy in the pet place on the train while she was in the phase of abandoning her best friend, and searching for her cat.

I think that this is an important message is, because that boy could be a big help to Terpsichore in Alaska because he seems to know lots of info. Terpsichore starts to think that they boy can help and educate her about Alaska. I think that the author is foreshadowing something about the boy on the train and how useful and important he could have been later in the story. I predict that the boy on the train while finding a way for Trip to settle in Alaska and deal with not have her best friend there because there are so many people living in Alaska. I also predict that the boy while being useful for the girl by actually living with her, and explaining what everything is, and what the important of all of the objects are. I believe that the boy in the story will make a huge change to the plot, and led Trip to the right path, by exclaiming all of the important steps you need to take in order to survive in Alaska.

When Trip and her family were going to Alaska because of the tragic depression which was taking place.
I think that Trip was lucky and fortunate to be able to go to Alaska at the last minute. Even though Trip wanted to go to Alaska with Eileen's family, they have a great opportunity waiting for them. Trip and her family could get to experience and start over with a new life. They could produce more and advanced process of agriculture, lengthen the amount of wealth and be able to survive. Truly, I believe that Trip is lucky to travel all the way to Alaska. If I were in her place then I would feel really proud and strong about myself because I had led my family into the right path, I didn't waste any time cry and be depressed about my best friend's sacrifice. Overall, I think that Trip has done the right job, and took actions which were helpful and capable to keeping her family positive all the time.

When everyone was leaving Little bear Lake because of the great depression.
This is happening because people in Little Bear Lake aren't getting proper money. There aren't any jobs for people so they can't get money for their house. People in the town don't have enough money for basic things such as school and food. People aren't getting as much wealth as they were used to be getting, because of the economy. The economy is down, without no economy you can't get money, and without money, you can't get food, and clothes and other types of basic things. I believe that in the town people are suffering because they are not getting paid well because the economy is really poor. The great depression was a tragic and most horrific which had taken place in history and disturbed all of the environment. It had also stolen of the citizen's occupation.

When a passenger was telling a story to his daughter.
"Only happy girls get to go to Alaska". This phrase mainly refers to Trip the main character, while she was on the train. I think that the author was referring mainly for trip because she was really sad about leaving town and her friends. Mainly, she was depressed about her best friend Eileen. She didn't mean for her not to go to Alaska, yet she wanted her to go to Alaska with her but they had replaced each other, because her family was willing to go to a new house somewhere in the United States. If I were in Trip's place then I would feel really sad as well.

When Trip was convinced to set up a library fundraiser.
I had really gotten into the story when Trip was informing citizens in her town for a fundraiser for the library. I thought that trip was really shy, and embarrassed in front of all of the citizens and wouldn't try to inform citizens and raise awareness all through her new town. Because of the terrible incident which I had happened to her at school. She was trying to tell the citizens to raise enough money for a better library. If I were in Trip's place then I wouldn't try to tell the citizens and knock on every single door and give then brochures about the donations for the library. I know that it is for a good use, but knocking on every single door and giving them brochures to people who don't even know the first place, second, it would be kind of embarrassing. Trip is really determined to inform the citizens because in her own town she had loved the library and was eager to help donate books to poor children in the great depression in Wisconsin. Trip is doing a really helpful and good job for the citizens, and people just like her should be eager to help for a better environment.

I was really interested
that back then people had thought of this invention. It was really interesting and fascinating to learn about. After reading the chapter of how Trip had used the telegram, I have got an actual image in my head of how to use it, because in the books it only told you the definition and the importance of the telegram. You couldn't actually feel and wonder of how t must of have felt with an old source of communication.

1. Who is your main character? How would you describe him/her?
The full name of the main character in the book is Terpsichore Johnson. Terpsichore is a determined, brave, strong girl. She is like a role model to the other citizens in the book, because of the good things that she did.
2. Who are some secondary characters and why are they important to the story?
Some of the secondary character which are involved in this story were Terpsichore mother, and all of the citizens in her new town in Alaska.
3. What is the problem or conflict of the book?
The were lot's of conflict throughout the book. To start with, in the beginning of the book the problem was that, the state, Wisconsin, was dealing with the great depression. The great depression was an event which was dealing with people not having proper job's and enough money for there family. It was a time period when there weren't any jobs available for the citizens, which had led to negative impacts, such as starvation and not getting proper education. As I was reading I had also found out another problem which was occurring. There wasn't a library in her town. Terpsichore was determined to set up a library because she had wanted all of the children in her town to get proper education. Lastly, one more conflict which was happening was that Terpsichore mother was really sick. Her mother had gotten a fever, and Terpsichore was eager to help her mother in any case.
4. How is the main character trying to resolve the problem?
Terpsichore is trying to solve the conflict by setting up committees and raising awareness to all of the citizens. She is making brochures to teach all of the citizens to donate items, and not to make the mistakes again for the library. She is making a fundraiser for all of the people to participate in, so she is researching, and going to doctors to find enough textual evidence, and medications to help support her mother's illness.
5. What do you like so far about the book? AND WHY.
So far in this book I had really liked the suspense which was hidden the entire time throughout the book. The author was making a suspenseful vibe by adding in creative, and important words. I had also liked that Trip was helping the citizens all through her town to raise awareness.
6. What don’t you like so far about the book? AND WHY.
Something I had didn't like in this book was the author was repeating phrase again and again which didn't make really sense. Another thing which I didn't like was that Trip's best friend couldn't go with her in the trip which had changed the entire scean, and was really difficult for me to understand. Lastly, the author was using difficult words which were hard for me to understand.
