Giles Corey was in the same situation he was asked to give the names to the court or go to jail. Mary Warren was another one because she had to tell what she saw. in this story those things that happened related to me because they didn't want to give names or tell what they saw. I had a time where i had to tell something but i lied. In this story Abigail is making a big lie. She has caused a big scene. When she lied, she has got some many people involved. Also john says that his good wife Elizabeth do not lie. She went in the court trying to protect her husband and when she did, she lied for her husband. She didn't go in really tell the truth. Abigail Williams is lying for revenge and power. She is using these lies to get power and the thing is, everyone else in Salem believes her other then the ones who know the truth. 
The way she is constantly lying to get closer to John and get rid of Elizabeth in my opinion is just too much. She's getting innocent people accused. It is not the just her, though. Thomas Putnam and Reverend Parris are getting these girls to lie. We lied to my parents like Elizabeth lied to the court to keep John safe from being accused of adultery. The court questioned Elizabeth of adultery and she denied that he ever did, that she only thought that he did. Elizabeth lied to help keep John from getting in trouble just like my friend lied to keep me out of trouble. The importance of that is Elizabeth never lies and for her to finally lie in the court is a very significant part of the story.

This is similar to what I wrote in my journal. In my journal I wrote that I lied to my parents to help a friend. Similar to the Crucible, Elizabeth was thinking to lie to help John but ended up making the situation worse. Not knowing that John has confessed to adultery to save Elizabeth. John says that she can never tell a lie. But during court she actually lies, despite her hatred for Abigail. Proving John wrong. John is called a liar and the court no longer believes him. Something of the same sort happened in The Crucible. Everyone is being of witch-craft. Most of these people being accused are good christian people and when the accusations are being passed around through the town good peoples reputation is being drug through the dirt. In my situation people were trying to fit in and make themselves look good, and to get that attention that bashed a perfectly good name. Abigail did this in the town and ruined people with false information because she loved the feel of all the power in her town and the more people that were accused the more power she had, which reflects back to my journal entry. Abigail Williams is one of those people. Abby is constantly doing very odd and obscene acts in order to condemn people that are defenseless. She noticed Mary Warren sewing a doll for Elizabeth, and Abigail seeing that Mary placed a needle in the doll for safe keeping, later on acted as if Elizabeth had sent out a spirit to stab a needle in her stomach. Although in actuality, Abigail stabbed herself in order to accuse Elizabeth Proctor. Abigail Williams was on an power trip, she was always telling lies and wanted revenge. She accused many people of practicing witchcraft once she started she couldn't stop. She took advantage of the attention she had, she was determined of who was getting hanged just by saying his or her names.  Later on in Act III she seems to lose her mind by damning John Proctor, even though she says she loves him. When John tries to expose Abigail, she manages to turn the whole thing around on him and sent him off to the slammer. Like Thomas Puntinam who wanted others peoples land and used his daughter just to get land. He also thought of himself as the leader or the richest person in town. He was willing to kill innocent people just be able to own forefeited  land. He was able to get his way when he disagreed with somebody because of his money. He tries to belittle others to make himself and his family name bigger. His wife Ann has lost 7 out of 8 children and he sees an oppurtunity to own land and put his enemies away.

An example of this was in the crucible Elizabeth to the court about john. She told them that her husband john did not cheat on her with Abigail. If she wouldn’t have lied her husband would have got hung .John had already told the court that he did cheated and had an affair with Abigail .The point is Elizabeth never told a lie before as he say in the court. Abigail stabbed herself in order to accuse Elizabeth Proctor. She then later on acted in a way that would so they could believe her. Another example was when Abigail started accusing marry for witchcraft to be on the court side. Mary was all the blame until she started lying to so that she can be on the court side too and to have a good relationship with Abigail. Abigail just been telling the whole entire time to cover up the things she’s done.
