Martin Luther King was born on 15th January 1929in Atlanta in the state of Georgia, in a middle class family. His mother was Alberta Williams, she was a teacher. His father was Matin Luther King SR and he was a pastor. He also had one brother and one sister.
Martin Luther King had a peaceful childhood. Brawler and very emotional were the feelings that could describe him. He receved a good and solid education. When he was 18 years old, he decided to beacame a pastor. The young man studied in the Morehouse middle school in Atlanta from 1944 to 1948. So, he became a pastor like his father and his grandfatherand joined his father's templein Atlanta in 1948. In 1952, Matin Luther King met Coretta Scott and they were married in 1953 and had four children.
Martin Luther King underwent racial discrimination early in his life and was marked by Rosa Park's action, who refused to give up her seat to a white man on bus. So, he organized a group of boycotts. After one year of boycotting the bus system, The Supreme Court declared that the Alabama state segregation law was unconstitutional. That was a great legal victory but it took many years before things really changed.
As a result, his house was bombed and he suffered physical violence and was arrested by  police. He was realised on April 1963with the support of Kennedy.
In July 1964 he became the leader of Civil Rights Movements demanding equality for black peaple and organized protests.
On the 23rd August 1963, from the steps of the Lincolm memorial , where peaple gathered to support the pessing of laws that guaranteed every american equal civil rights, King delivered his most famous speech:"I have a dream".
Martin Luther King was at the same time one of the most beloved and one of the most hated of his time. In 1964,he received the Nobel Peace Price.
In 1968 he was assassinated by James Earl Ray. His death didn't slow down the Civils Rights Movements.
In 1986, the president Ronald Regan declared the 3rd Monday of January a federal legal holiday commemorating Martin Luther King's birthday. Then, she received the  Congressional Gold Medal as well as the Presidential Medal of Freedom and the Nobel prize. During this time the city of Montgomery was segregated. The black people and the white people were separated in the retaurant, and the black children had to go to the school for black children. The segregation was very horrible because the black people didn't have equal rights. The citation of Rosa Parks "I would like to be remembered as a person who wanted to be free... so other people would be also free" is very famous.

The man who bought a slave, named a master, treated him like an animal and forced him to work for a long time in the fields.
John brown was born in 1810. He became a slave at only ten years old. He and his mother, were taken to work in tobacco fields in the north of Carolina. A few months later , John was separated from his mother to work in Georgia, Milledgville in cotton fields. Afterwards, a rich master named Thomas Stevens bought him for 350 $. Thomas Stevens was the owner of John Brown for a long time. John followed him in Decatur. 
His master finally died in 1839 and the slave was sold again to his son, Decature Stevens who was more harsh and cruel than was his father. John tried many times to escape, but he failed each time . However, he met John Glasgow, an other slave, who helped him to run away, in New-Orlando, in Louisiana. Theodoric James  became his new master after he was found and replaced on the slaves-market. The second time, he escaped and went to the North by passing along the Mississippi. 
He worked for one year as a carpenter with emancipated black in Michigan and later with British minor.
He finally went to Canada and took refuge among black fugitives. In August 1850, a ship led all this black people to England, where slavery was forbidden. John Brown ended his life in the United Kingdom as a carpenter, married to a British woman.
He inspired many people because he wrote a book named "Slave Life in Georgia : a narrative of the Life, Sufferings, and Escape of John Brown, a fugitive". This book is the reason why he is the model for so many people. In 1865, just after yhe Northen states of America won the American civil war against the southern states, slavery was abolished. But it also the start of the segregation.
The segregation was the separation betwen black and white people because of the colour of their skin. 
The Jim Crow Laus were laus which decided what the people could or couldn't do.
For example, black people had to sit at the back of the bus.

Josephine Baker was born 3 June 1906 in Missouri. She was American. In 1920, it was her first marriage, she was only 13 years !
At 16 years old, she played her first role in New york and she became an actress. She came to France in 1925 and she began to dance. She had a lot of success, so in 1927, she started to sing.
In short, Josephine Baker was a famous dancer, a singer and an actress. In 1937, she got the french nationality. Thanks to her popularity, she could defend causes that were important to her, such as anti-semitism or the refugee protection. Moreover, during the war, she played an important role in the resistance to the occupier and she helped the secret services, hide secret messages in her partitions. She also raised many children who came from diferent countries and that she named her "rimbow tribe".
In 1963, she supported black emancipation and the end of segregation. She also took part in the march to Washington for work and freedom besides Martin Luther King. Finally, she died of a stroke on 12 april 1975 and she was buried in Monaco.

Nowadays, she is considered as a hero of the civil rights movement in America.

Ther health sufferes later in life, in part because of the beating when she was young girl. She died of pneumonia in 1913. She was 90 years old.

Her life was celebrated in books, films and opera.

Harriet Tubman sacrificed her life trying to save lives and I think I would hare done the same thing. I think slavery was horrible and cruel.

Louis Armstrong, born August 4, 1901 in New Orleans, Louisiana, and died July 6, 1971 in New York City, is an African-American jazz musician and singer. He is also known by the nicknames of "Dippermouth", "Satchmo" (short for satchel-mouth, literally "mouth-satchel").
Louis Armstrong was born, probably August 4, 1901, to a poor black family in New Orleans, in the Jane Alley neighborhood plagued by violence and prostitution. His father William Armstrong (1881–1922), a worker in a turpentine factory, left the family home shortly after his birth. His mother Mary ”Mayann” Albert (1886–1942), was a good handyman among whites and had to live on her charms to get by, so much so that he was brought up by his paternal grandmother Josephine (born a slave ).
As a child, he sang in the streets of New Orleans in a small vocal group. Growing up in a difficult neighborhood, he worked in many small jobs (charcoal carrier, newspaper delivery man, grave sweeper) to help his family. Due to delinquency (including newspaper theft), he was repeatedly sent to a home for abandoned children of color: the "Colored Waifs' Home" . According to police records, he stays there for a long time after firing a gun into the air to celebrate the New Year. He learned to play the cornet in the orchestra of this home, thanks to his first instrument offered by the Karnofsky, a Jewish family of Russian origin who had developed a fondness for the child. When released in 1914, he played the cornet in the storyville red light district cabarets. He meets King Oliver who gives him advice and he replaces him for a time in the orchestra of trombonist Kid Ory on the riverboat Capitol. He attends brass band parades and listens to old musicians whenever he gets the chance, learning from Bunk Johnson, Buddy Petit and most of all, Joe King Oliver. From 1918 he played in brass bands with the renowned Fate Marable orchestra on the steamboats that sailed up the Mississippi.
In his early days, Louis Armstrong was best known for his virtuosity on the cornet and trumpet. The best trumpet interpretation of his early years can be heard on his Hot Five and Hot Seven records. In 1979 : she received Spingarn Medal, the highest honor of the NAACP.

In 1980 : She received the Martin Luther King Sr.award.

In 1999 : congress, the US legislature, bestowed on her its highest honor, the congressional Gold Medal, and she was awarded the Governor’s first Medal of honor for the extraordinary courage of his homestate in 2000.
