Medicare is Australia’s universal health insurance scheme. Medicare gives all Australians, permanent residents and people from countries with a reciprocal agreement access to subsidised healthcare. The NDIS is funded by the federal and state/territory governments as the NDIS works to assists individuals with disabilities in order to live an ordinary life. 

To be eligible for NDIS, an individual must meet the age requirement of being under 65 years of age.
An individual must also meet the residency requirement Of living in Australia and be an Australian citizen, or hold a permanent visa or even a protected special category visa.
Individuals must also have the following disability requirements in order to be eligible for the NDIS.
1) a lifelong condition 
2) your condition must reduce your ability to participate effectively in activities unless you have; 
• assistances from others 
• you have assistive technology or equipment 
• you can effectively participate even with the help of assistance and equipment 
3) your condition must be affecting your capacity for social and economic participation 
4) you are likely to require support under the NDIS for your lifetime

The NDIS works within units within a price guide . A service provider cannot charge in excess of the set unit costs for services.
