         <title>Coffee Filter Art</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>https://alittlepinchofperfect.com/autumn-leaves-steam-absorption-art-for-kids-to-enjoy/&nbsp;<br>Autumn leaves used for a STEAM lesson involving the coffee filter to transform using markers into the fall colored leaves. The materials being used are coffee filters, scissors, markers, cups of water, pencils, and leaf templates. The students will use the pencil to draw a circle in the center and then they will cut out the leaf based off the template. Color the circle with the markers and then fold into multiple sections. Allow for the water to soak into the folds into the leaves for that nice glistening in the leaves. This can be used for a STEM activity by the fact that it would allow the students to discover the different colors and the time it takes for the leaves to change color. It works with the art factor to allow for the colors to form for the student's own curiosity.</div>]]></description>

         <title>LEGO Solar Panels </title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>For this the students will be using multiple legos, construction paper, solar paper, and trays. The legos will be on the trays and on the paper that will be left out in the sun. Once it has layed out there for a period of time. The students will take the legos off to reveal the shadows in the back of the construction paper. The students will be able to take this home with them. This would allow the students to see the importance of the sun and the effects of long sun burning on people. This would be great for the students in a 2nd or 3rd grade level. This would build discovery for the students because they are able to use something that they are familiar with like lego for an expirament. </div>]]></description>

         <title>Edible Stained Glass </title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>The great thing about this project is that it works well with Geometry. This project will involve some more ingredients than the other projects. The ingredients would be:&nbsp;</div><ul><li>Hard candy in liquid form (either homemade from corn syrup, sugar, and water or store-bought such as jolly ranchers. Instructions for melting jolly ranchers will be further down this article.)</li><li>Egg whites from 3 large eggs</li><li>1 tsp vanilla extract</li><li>4 cups powdered sugar</li><li>1/2 tsp cream of tartar</li><li>Pretzel sticks and rods as desired</li></ul><div>Tools Needed:&nbsp;</div><ul><li>(If using homemade rock candy) pot, candy thermometer, spoon, and stove top</li><li>(If using store-bought candies) hard candies (such as jolly ranchers), microwave-safe bowls, spoons</li><li>Mixer</li><li>Measuring cups and spoons</li><li>Aluminum foil</li><li>Heat-safe surface</li><li>Piping bag</li></ul><div>The way that this will happen is when everything has been mixed together it will be making this stained glass look from the jolly ranchers. The students will be able to look at the stained glass like they were at a church. This project would involve a substantial amount of time in the baking and mixing, but it would work to allow the students a look at the finished product. This will greatly increase the students' curiosity and peak their interests when it comes to the expirament in general. </div>]]></description>

         <title>Straw Airplane</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>This project would involve the using straws, tape, construction paper, scissors, and glue for this project. The project would mostly be making sure that the straws are connected to the two circular pieces of construction paper that they are able to throw like a paper airplane. This would peak students' interests because they are able to throw it like a paper airplane which would interest a majority of the students. This would be used for a engineering aspect of STEAM.</div>]]></description>

         <title>Creating Crystal Geodes</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>This project will include four ingrediants to create this expirament. The ingrediants are eggs, water, food coloring, and salt. When mixed together it will form a somewhat crystalized geode.&nbsp;<br>Collect several bowls to grow your geodes in.&nbsp; They will need to be just a touch larger than your eggshells.&nbsp; We loved the glass bowls because it was so much easier to watch the growth process. Carefully crack several eggs and scramble the innards for lunch. Take your shells and wash them gently under warm water.&nbsp; After they are clean, place them in the bowls and a let them dry while you complete the next step. Boil enough water to fill one bowl.&nbsp; You can do this over the stove or in the microwave. Once the water is boiling, remove it from the heat and add as much salt as will dissolve in the water.&nbsp; Once the salt grains stay at the bottom, do not add any more.&nbsp; Finally, stir in 1-3 drops of food coloring.&nbsp; Experiment with colors if you’d like. Pour the colored salt solution over an eggshell.&nbsp; Pour it into the shell first so it doesn’t float, and then continue to fill the bowl around the eggshell.&nbsp;<br>This would be perfect for building a scientific discovery and curiosity in the students. This would be perfect for a classroom of students. This allows for the project to go over a period of multiple days. This will be used for all of the students. </div>]]></description>

         <title>Binary Code Bracelets</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>For this the students will be learning about Binary code. This would be good for a fourth or fifth grade lesson. The students would be spelling their names in Binary and then would be making the circular and stars apart of the zeros and ones of binary. The way that this would be used would be perfect for creating curiosity and discovery for the students.  </div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>For this STEAM activity, this would be a preschool  to first grade activity. This would be introducing students to the tetrahedrons which would be a solid having four plane triangular faces; a triangular pyramid. This lesson would involve the concepts of shapes and learning shapes. Shapes are an important part of mathematics and STEAM. This would involve paper, folding, scissors, and tape.&nbsp;<strong>Science:</strong> Students will use skills within the scientific method: observing, communicating, comparing, organizing, and relating.&nbsp; Students will also investigate tessellating patterns found in their everyday world.<br><br></div><div><strong>Technology:</strong> Students will use mobile technology to create tessellations and digital technology to document learning.<br><br></div><div><strong>Engineering:</strong> Kids will engineer a tessellating pattern using geometric shapes.<br><br></div><div><strong>Arts:</strong> Kids will construct a tessellating pattern that reflects the student artist’s creative choices.&nbsp;<br>The lesson would be great for the students since they will have all creative choices in the activity. </div><div><br><br></div>]]></description>

The tools that will be needed for this would be the:<br>Steel<br>Vinegar<br>Hydrogen peroxide<br>Salt<br>Rubbing acohol<br>Steel wool or Scotchbrite<br>Electrical tape<br>Plastic sheet (sheet covers would work great)<br>Spray bottle (misting)<br>Table covering/protection<br>Cookie sheet<br>Oven<br>Safety glasses<br>Protective Gloves<br>Spray clear coat<br>This would be perfect to use for a class project where you just use one of these for a metal sheet that would be perfect in a class. The metal sheet would be great for the students to look at and be used for an outside project. This would allow for the students to use scientific creation through curiosity and new materials being shown to the students. This would be a great fifth grade classroom project. </div>]]></description>

         <title>Exploding Paint Rockets</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>This project would be perfect for the 4th and fifth grade classes. Kids can learn about propulsion, rocket design, chemical reactions, states of matter, and cause and effect. This lesson would allow for the students to enjoy a lesson that is filled with colors and allowing for the colors to explode. This would require mason jars, paint, ply cardboard, alka seltzer, and smaller containers. This would peak the students interests because of the explosion in colors would make the sstudent interested in the expirament. The main point is to talk about chemical reactions and how important chemical reactions are to Science.</div>]]></description>

This would most likely be a 5 minute expirament that would peak the students' interests. This would allow the students to learn chemical reactions and color science. For this expirament the shapes that they will color on could be any shape and gifts for students' parents. This is meant for a 2nd or 3rd grade STEAM activity. </div>]]></description>
