The exhibits - minerals, gemstones and meteorites from all over the world - were given on permanent loan by Erika Pohl-Ströher to the Freiberg University of Mining and Technology in 2004. terra mineralia opened in October 2008 and is one of the largest mineral exhibitions in the world with over 3,500 exhibits.
