Asking the most basic questions like, "What do you call the front of the book?" or "Who can show me where I should start reading?", can really help children understand how to read a book. I also learned and liked how we count words with the children to help them understand that there are words in a sentence and spaces. This can help in my future classroom to know how to teach children how to read a book.

Overall I love this chapter and I can't wait to try it on my preschooler!

I also learned they different ways to teach handwriting and why. Which I think is very important and I had a teacher try to teach me in 5th grade with lined paper for this exact reason! I also learned of the assessment letter naming fluency. It is a time test that gives you one minute to identify uppercase and lowercase letters.

Overall I think this lesson is very important and a good thing to learn.
