its much better to read your textbook for this one. in my experience, karamihan ng nasa book nagshow-up sa mga quizzes, but maybe it differs sa teachers? better na safe tho!

Applies for more concept based subject matter like philosophy and understanding culture society and politics, but yea what it says on the tin.

There's no limit to the choice of how to get your explanation out; whether it's by talking to your stuffed animals or rambling in chat to a friend or in a focused study group! As long as tingin mo na-explain mo nang maayos (or if meron ka talagang kausap), tingin nila na na-explain nang maayos, it's cool.

create your own excel as calculator, so mas maganda if you learn formulas, but your assigned teachers will mention the formulas naman. very convenient during exams and petas

para sa ikabubuti niyo, analyze your teachers first. alam ko na its important to speak your mind and to have your own opinions and everything (#respect), but its not worth risking your grades. if tingin niyo na open minded teacher niyo, then go for it. have intellectual discussions, those are the best feeling in the world. but worst comes to worst an apologist, or anti-vax, or flat-earther, or homophobe yung teacher niyo (na sana 'wag naman), things will be rocky.

we got lucky with our teacher. she encouraged us to speak our minds and to justify what we felt is right. however, you may not get lucky.

if they're intolerable, don't face them head on. instead, reach out to the student council. they're there to support you.

Good luck! It will be hard surely pero sabi nga ng twice, we just go hard. Anyways, find your friends agad, it will be hard to survive alone. Piliin niyo yung machika sa loob at labas ng section niyo para alam niyo ganap sa lahat.

do some reading in advance, especially kapag nasa part na na may assigned text na, which are an essay, poetry, short story.

while it's not required na rin, try to also read up more on different literature para mapractice yung lessons on literary criticism, analysis, theories, etc using those pieces of literature as examples. also, literature isn't confined to just books! literature can come in other forms too!

be prepared as well to write analysis, stories, essays, and poetry of your own.

make use of library resources when looking for articles and journals!

fav database ko is emerald insight, which has more topics that may fit into ABM research. here's the link to the UST library's post/guide to setting up an account, tho last year pa sya and im not sure kung maiiba yung guidelines this year. will update na lang.

when looking for articles, google scholar is a great search engine/index. ituturo naman yung details sa klase, pero i attached a screenshot with some features i've found most useful.

lastly, the unpaywall extension can also help with finding you an open access version of an article, tho sometimes it wont be able to find one. ofc there are ~other ways~ to access a paywalled article pero ito yung more ethical version since para lang sya automatic na search function that will let you know if there's another free version.

after your classes per subject, its much better to browse your notes and materials! mas maganda na naiintindihan niyo talaga yung lesson para hindi kayo magkaloko-loko during peta and exam week.

kung bumili kayo ng e-book, basahin niyo. situation-based 'yung exams at sa libro ay may mga example ng situations at kung paano ina-apply irl 'yung terminologies and topics. sa teacher namin, what she used sa presentation ay nakalagay lahat sa book, sometimes mas detalyado pa. so i suggest to have your book with you habang nagka-klase.

puro terminologies lang, minsan may situation-based. sa test naman, kung binigyan kayo ng reading activity—magbabasa ng poem, prose or kung ano—nasasama 'yon sa quiz. minsan, kasama pa 'yung quotes ng important person na na-discuss niyo.

hi, hello!

don't let the colors sa blackboard na maapektuhan kayo mentally. it's draining to keep track of the greens, the yellows, the reds or whatever. there will be days na 'di talaga kayo makaka-berde, and that's honestly okay. don't beat yourself up over it. remember na humanap kayo ng maliliit na bagay na makapagpapasaya sa inyo to keep u going. good luck!
