They need a lot of help to better understand the work in their language. Sometimes I feel disconnected with the ones that only speak  English because  that is not my maternal language ,but we always figured out the vocabulary with the dictionary. The way my identity impacts students in the classroom is the vocation that I feel for my job. Adam Saenz work with teachers in academic behavior .  He narrow the story how two teachers inspire him to become the profesional or human that it is now.He explained how he struggle with behavior ,drug when he was younger. I was drawn to this book out of all the other books,because of the personal connection with the main character who is a teen mom called Emoni . Her roots are Puertorican and the love she has for when she is in the kitchen amazes me. I am familiar with most of the recipes that she  describes in the book.It is very important for me. Emoni is a student that reminds me of myself. She never gives up on herself and for her education was the first option to continue in life. My connection with Emoni story is that she describes a teacher that impacted her life and always put her trust in her.
