Students take 3 items from their backpack or desk and must use the 3 items to solve a problem. For ex: How can these items help Cinderella get to the ball? Or how can these items help the native americans in the French and Indian War?

Write a two sentence story on the wipeboard. Rotate after 2 minutes (or whatever time is appropriate for your students) then rotate to the next board. Continue the story as you move around the room.

Students must use

Students work on summarizing a story one sentence at a time.

Students must tell the events in a historical event 1-2 sentences at a time. Each Wipeboard could have a different perspective they must tell the story from. Ex: American Revolution told from the perspective of King George, George Washington, Thomas Jefferson etc.

Questioning Strategy

Students look at pictures or passages from a text and and without talking write a question. Once you write a question, move on, look at the next picture and continue the same strategy.

This is a great way to get students moving and asking questions. This can be used as a motivational strategy to introduce a new topic.

One question can also be picked for further research or further questioning.
