- Draft policies, easier for authorities to draft policies
- Sense of belonging (not if you are the minority)
- Every race can get some sort of representation in China. (cons to this)
Cons: 
- Cause racial tension
- Loss of diversity (in terms of culture, dialect groups)

I think promotes diversity =  forces you to mingle with other people
Cross cultural understanding
People won't even bother at all if there is no racial classification
We are still living in harmony now, and can partly be attributed to the divide that we have


Cons:
  • Only allocated to one identity so they may only be stuck to one identity
  • One may be more superior than the other
  • May create a sense of conflict between different people
  • Not much on cultural representation, not much an emphasis on the culture specific to the group
 

Pros outweigh the cons since we r still living in harmony
