Cheap Chinese electric cars are creating strong competition for Western carmakers. This could lead to higher tariffs, moving parts of the EV supply chain back to local markets, and new trade talks about subsidies. To stay in the market, car and battery companies may need to cut costs, innovate, or form partnerships. For international business, this means higher trade risks, new regulations, and changes in consumer prices that companies must plan for.

Since Russia’s war against Ukraine, several cases of drones crossing into Polish territory have been reported. Poland said 19 objects had entered its airspace during a large Russian air attack on Ukraine, and that it had shot down those posing a threat. Investors worry about supply chain disruptions in borders, also transportation affect. Insurance costs may increase because of higher perceived risks. In Poland, security challenges are forcing companies to manage risks, while the defense and logistics sectors are benefiting from innovation and investment.

Link:

https://www.reuters.com/business/aerospace-defense/poland-downs-drones-its-airspace-becoming-first-nato-member-fire-during-war-2025-09-10/

https://www.reuters.com/world/poland-will-shoot-down-objects-clear-cut-airspace-violations-prime-minister-says-2025-09-22/

The strike disrupted talks over a Trump-backed ceasefire deal and may end Qatar’s role as mediator, likely shifting negotiations to Egypt. It risks worsening the Gaza war debate in Israel, endangering hostages, straining ties with the U.S., and alarming Gulf states, which condemned the attack and fear growing Israeli aggression and regional escalation.

Saudi Arabia’s 2025 GDP growth forecast was raised to 3.5% by the IMF, driven by government projects and strong domestic demand despite lower oil prices. The kingdom expects a $27B fiscal deficit, financed mainly by borrowing, but remains one of the least indebted nations (17% of GDP). Vision 2030 spending continues, including preparations for the 2029 Asian Winter Games and 2034 World Cup, supporting robust growth.

Saudi Arabia’s GDP grew 3.9% in Q2 2025, driven by 4.6% growth in non-oil sectors like utilities, finance, and business activities. Oil output rose 3.8% year-on-year and 5.6% from Q1, supported by OPEC+’s plan to raise production. Despite a 15% drop in oil prices (now ~$65/barrel), the kingdom continues Vision 2030 spending to diversify its economy. A $27B fiscal deficit is forecast for 2025.
